Blood Pressure experience and views sought

Hi allI have been feeling ropey,v lethargic and a bit slow for a few months now, despite increase in Levothyroxine.

I had attributed this to constant blood loss(months) following HRT which didn't suit me,however this stopped 2 months ago.

Previous blood tests showed haemoglobin on the low side so have been taking an Iron supplement at GP suggestion,15mg for 3 months.

I also take Vitamin D,K2 and Magnesium and Levothyroxine 75.

My query is this:

Having continued to feel rubbish I have been taking my blood pressure for a week

The results have been relatively consistent at ,for example,112/52,118/50 and pulse being between 66 and 74.

This morning, however,my BP was 132/51 and my resting pulse,in the space of 45 minutes 103/91/81/78.

I had dismissed what felt like palpitations in bed.

Has anyone else had this experience? I know thyroid conditions can affect the heart.

Should I continue to monitor or be more proactive..I do feel like a hypochondriac.

Thank you for your time .

Last thyroid and vitamin test results were 5 months ago

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

any more recent results

75mcg is a low dose unless you are extremely petite

Important to retest vitamin D twice year and folate, B12 and ferritin at least once year

After blood loss full iron panel test likely good idea

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing. It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

Medichecks iron panel test

Thank you for your reply Slow Dragon.I have not had any further tests since August when I had a full blood count.

My GP refused the Iron panel at that time.

My Haemoglobin was 116g/L ...Range 115 - 155.

Red blood cell 3.89

Range 3.95-5.15

I have persevered with the supplements. You are right,I should re test to see if any change.

I am 5 feet 3" and weigh 59.4 kg

I will approach GP but likely need to put my hand in my pocket for the tests...invest in myself !!

My understanding is that low diastolic blood pressure is not uncommon in hypothyroidism.

Is that correct?

59kg x 1.6mcg Levo per kilo per day = around 95mcg per day

95mcg per day = 650mcg per week

75mcg x 7 days = 525mcg per week

So you probably need small increase

Initially to 87.5mcg per day

Eventually might need 87.5mcg 4 days per week and 100mcg 3 days
