Iron levels update & advice

Hello there,

I've been working on raising ferritin levels since Feb, in the past 6 months using 3 Arrows Heme.

My Ferritin levels were:

45 ug/L (13-150) February 23 - tried Ferrous fumurate, did not agree with me or work

42 ug/L (13-150) April 23 - started 3 Arrows heme 2 / day

61 ug/L (13-150) July 23 - continued 3 Arrows heme, 2 - 3 / day alternate days (when I remembered)

86 ug/L (13-150) October 23 - continued 3 Arrows, taking 2 - 3 /day alternate days (when I remembered)

135 ug/L (13-150) December 23

I am happy to have raised them over 100 but I gather from here that I don't want them to go any higher.

Looking at my other iron markers (which I don't fully understand) would advice be to stop all together for 8 -10 weeks and test again? Or continue taking 1 every other day .. dont want them to plummet again but is it a case of trial and error?

I still take 2 a week and also a couple of iron bisglycinate 18mg ferrochel but I have no idea where I am at... bloods tomorrow 😬

Trial and error I expect... I wouldn't stop all together as I did that the first time and it dropped within 3 months 🙃

I know, I'm feeling very proud of my ferritin levels. 😀 Do report back when you have your blood test results!

Having got your level to a good point it wouldn't be advisable to stop it altogether. As to how much you should take to maintain a good level I cant advise.
