Article from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell Medical College about multi-modal treatment of advanced disease.
This pilot study may be of interest to most of us since it shows that even with distant metastasis patients can achieve a PSA of 0 (non evidence of disease) if a multi-modal treatment is used. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5468169/ ------------------------ A Pilot Study of a Multimodal

Dad is fighting ARDS, I'm so depressed
Since Feb 21, my dad (73) is in the hospital on the
intensive
care
unit, with a case of pneumonia in both lungs. He didn't have any trouble before, only some cardiac arrythmia, under control with medicine.

Brother approved for retransplantation
It is hard to see him lying in

feeling so sick and unwell. He is currently on dialysis and also treatment for low blood pressure as a result of the liver failure. We must all now be patient while we wait for a liver to become available.

Aunties Funeral and difficult situation how to request time of from work?😔
This came as a big shock espically as I did not know straight away she was in hospital and then later found out she was in
intensive
care
. The reason I did not know was because of difficult family relationships and her son (my cousin). Long backstory.

Heart Bypass - what to expect...!?
- What happens immediately after the operation, does he go to
intensive
care
for a few days? - At what point would he be sent home from hospital? - What happens in the next few weeks, can he walk and move around or are we looking at him being pretty motionless in bed needing someone to nurse him?

Advanced localized PC
Hello everyone. This is my first post and I am writing it as I wait to be discharged from the hospital. My Gleason was 3+4 and my PSA is about 37. My first bone scan was negative for any obvious cancer. I have a very experienced onocologist who recommended 25 VMAT IMRT and 2 HDR brachytherapies. They

Why do heart attacks surprise so many of us?
After about 4 hours, I was examined and sent directly to
Intensive
Care
for three days then transferred to the ward and had my first stent some days later. A nurse told me that "if I was going to have a heart attack then A&E was the best place to be."

One month after starting Lupron, Zytiga and Prednisone...
My PSA has risen slowly from .2 to 2.8 after RP and IMRT in 2014. A biopsy of a small lung nodule a couple of months ago was positive for PCa so I started Lupron Zytiga and Prednisone 2/6/2018. Today the PSA had dropped to .7 after just one month. That seems like a remarkable result to me. Was it

How to begin Long Wheat Grain Diet (LWMDR) the 1st time...
Dear members, I have one quick question : When starting consumption of LWMDR for the 1st time is surely going to increase the PPBS so how to deal with that part. What should I do if PPBS level hits high like +200 is that OK or what and will it come down by itself and/or for how many days will it remain

Mum in Intensive Care, worried she won't recover
My mum had open heart surgery at the beginning of November, and hasn't ever got well. She has had breathing problems ever since the op and got very weak as she didn't feel like eating. Finally they put in a feeding tube but it gave her a bad nose bleed, meaning they had to ventilate her to put it in

Caelyx not worked
Found out on Friday that my two rounds of Caelyx have not worked. My CA125 is now a little over 23,000. So glad I pushed for a review before I had the 3rd infusion. Have had carbo/taxol and then weekly taxol over last 2 years with regrowth happening quickly or in case of taxol before the cycle had
