Anticoagulants and diabetes drugs send a significant amount of adults ages 65 and older to the emergency room each year.
New research looking into adverse effects from medication use found that anticoagulants (blood thinners) and diabetes drugs send a significant amount of adults ages 65 and older to the emergency room each year. Younger adults, between the ages of 25 and 44, were more likely to experience medication

However, I started using an insulin pump 9 weeks ago and I'm struggling

Being a diabetic
Been diagnosed with diabetes a week ago, sugar levels very high, now after a week on insulin it’s back to normal. Is this normal after a week?, Also notice my heart rate is very low, which is concerning since I have Atrial Fibrillation.

What questions for GP?
Hi, Thank you all for previous responses. I have an appointment with GP next week where I’ll be discussing the results from private results. I know (thanks to you all) that I need to ask/say the list below. My question is given my symptoms, which I’ll list below too, is there anything I’m not aware of

MHRA launches public consultation on future of medical device regulation
I strongly encourage you to consider replying to this invitation to submit your views. I suspect a lot of members use one or more devices and would likely have opinions worth contributing. Although not specific to Pernicious Anaemia, I'm quite sure many use devices such as autoinjectors specifically

Looking for pointers: long term (chronic) fatigue, now fibromyalgia
Hi there, I'm writing this on behalf of my wife, having obtained good advice on HealthUnlocked regarding my own health conditions and hoping to help her via this forum. My wife is (understandably) somewhat jaded, having exhausted conventional/semi conventional doctors without finding much interest in

A breakthrough-like effect of metformin reduces peripheral resistance to triiodothyronine in euthyroid, non-insulin-resistant, T2 diabetes
Metformin is used to decrease
insulin
resistance
, and at present, it is assumed to influence the effect of triiodothyronine, as well.

New study from Japan. When I was diagnosed there was a clear association between dairy & PCa (particularly mortality). The smoking guns: calcium (inhibits hormonal vitamin D) & IGF-I (it promotes rapid growth in babies.) The years rolled by & suddenly, dairy was safe. & now?
