Vitamin B12 "normal" Folate low
Vitamin B12 is 365 (normal range 181-910), but my Serum Folate is 5.1 (should be >5.4). My Serum Ferratin was 28ug( (normal 10-291). What does this mean please, Is my B12 OK, and if so why is My Folate low? I want to know how best/what to supplement. Someone mentioned on the Thyroid forum that I may

Advice Needed Re: Test Results Please?
Hi, I'm a new member and I wonder if anyone can offer any advice please? I'm a 56 year old male and have been suffering from some symptoms which, according to many websites, is associated with B12 deficiency. I sent off for a test with a company called Cerascreen who seem very professional. In due course

GP wants to stop my B12 injections
I was diagnosed under active thyroid since 2011. I’m well treated and all levels are good. However after discovering I was in the very lowest (but within) range of B12 (243 with a range of 210 to 910) it took me 2 years to persuade the GP that I was not absorbing B12 in any way orally. He finally agreed

Stop taking vitamins before blood tests?
Hello! I'm new here. I've not been diagnosed, but I have many, many symptoms, so going to ask GP to investigate. I may have had thyroid tests done before as part of routine blood tests, so will ask for previous results when I go. I was wondering if I should stop taking vitamins before having blood tests

Measuring Brain Ferritin?
Many of you have mentioned taking "gentle iron" to help the RLS. My physician tested the level of iron in my blood, but claimed there is NO WAY to determine the amount of iron in the brain. The blood iron came back within normal limits, so my physician recommended I NOT continue taking the "gentle

Will Levo still work if vitamins aren't optimal?
I had an ultrasound last Friday which shows damage, I have to wait 10 days before my GP will get the results. My idea over these few weeks was to build up my vitamin levels, test them via Medichecks and then go back to my gp and request Levo. My problem is my bladder. Its a big problem actually which

I have a theory...
Does anyone on this forum who has Autoimmune Atrophic Gastritis and injects B12 more regularly than the standard 12wks seen an increase in their iron and ferritin levels? Or even just sees an increase in ferritin and iron absorption after an injection? I haven’t absorbed iron properly since my mid twenties

B12 deficiency
Can I have B12 deficiency without having pernicious anemia? My red blodd cell count is within the 'normal' limits. I have chest pains quite regularly and have been getting the B12 injection for about a week, first daily for 4 days and I had my first weekly one last week.

Hi everyone, I visited my GP after suffering for along time with symptoms of constant Nausea , fatigue , swollen fingers and weight loss (10lb in 6 weeks) I had put all this down to IBS / Psoriasis but after a blood test was told my b12 was 154 even though I have a good diet and have taken b12 in

Nerve damage
I’ve read somewhere that b12 deficiency can affect your nerves. If you damage a nerve will it take longer to heal and hurt more if your b12 deficient?

Hi all I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency 3 months ago and had a b12 level of 104 (normal range over 130). I had 6 loading doses and after the 6th I found my symptoms subsided (which included neurological). After 6 weeks I felt awful again and went back to gp and asked if I had PA and she basically

Diagnosing PA
Hi, All my bloods were normal (including negative anti bodies for intrinsic factor) other than my Vit B12 at 130. I then took 1000mg of Vit B12 sublingually for 18 days and had a blood test taken 6 weeks after the first one and my Vit B12 levels had gone up to 200. From this, should I assume that I

Blood Test Results - Please Help
I'm currently being investigated for Coeliac Disease and, as part of those investigations, was diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia last year. My blood test results also showed a B12 level of 340ng/L. I'd been taking the BetterYou B12 oral spray (240% EC NRV) for 12+ months. I contacted the B12 charity
