I had my blood test today and result shows that i have b12 deficiency. My b12 is 170. My major symptoms are walking imbalance, shortness of breath. So from tomorrow onwards i will be taking b12 shots. I want know how much time will it take to at least get rid of these symptoms.
Thanks.

Hi wanderboy. Sadly, you asked a bit of a 'how long's a piece of string' question. Some people feel better straight away, some people feel worse before they start to feel better, and a lot of people take a while before they start to improve.
Having said that, the jabs help enormously, and hopefully you'll start to feel much more human very soon. Be patient, and keep your GP informed.

Hello. I've posted under Nackapan. I finished my loading doses 5 days ago. I can walk better but still feel very weak and it takes all my concentration. I'm having it appears alot of side effects. Hopefully you will react better and get the full benefits very soon
Yes I've lost weight. 8lb in 4 weeks then plateaued. Not overweight at start so as so weak don't want to lose any more. I struggle but make myself eat.!
Doctor will most likely give you 6 loading doses and then 1 injection every 3 months as standard practice, but you should be getting 1 injection other day until no further improvement.(which is hard to get the doctor to agree).
I had 6 loading doses then 1 injection every week and it took about 12-16 weeks before I noticed good improvement.
Also make sure your Folate and Iron are at good levels as they work together with B12.
Most people will probably say don’t know how long but in that time you should notice decent/good improvement and further injections will get you there depending on the severity of your symptoms.
