TL;DR: Has anyone had levels of B12 above the standard reference range (while never having had any B12 injections) before getting diagnosed with PA? MMA test
Hi does anyone know if you can get the MMA test on the NHS. I have had a telephone consultation with my doctor after I sent in my Medichecks Thyroid and Active B12 results. My Active B12 is 41 range 25.1 - 165 and Viapath recommend to be tested for MMA if level is below 70. I emailed Medichecks to

curcumin supplementation interfering with iron?
I am wondering if this Google article holds any truth. (I am low in ferritin and working on increasing it thru iron supplementation with Vit C) Turmeric And Iron Deficiency: Can too much turmeric intake lead to iron deficiency? Ferritin Levels - Recommendations?
I recently had an Iron Profile done and my ferritin result came back as 17ug/l . The doctor said this was normal, but I read on here that Ferritin is one of the big issues for RLS. I'm frustrated as they know about my issues with RLS and I've had to fight for years to get them to take it seriously.

C Diff and B12 Deficiency?
Anybody have experience with C Diff and possible B12 deficiency? I had 2 rounds of C Diff (the first in January 2021). B12 symptoms were not present beforehand. C Diff has likely colonized in my gut now. Wondering if there could be a connection.

Urine vs blood for B vitamins - anyone understand why one could be high and one low?
I have had several blood tests for Vitamin B12 which has increased over the past 12-14 months via supplementation (igennus super B mainly). My latest medichecks result was: 31March active B12 204 pmol/L (25.1-165) I then had a Dutch test which involves both saliva and urine tests. As part of the urine

Iron Supplements and Other Meds
I know we need to allow 4 hours either side of thyroid and meds for Iron. But does anyone here take an anticoagulant? I'm on Apixaban and I have to take it twice a day 12 hours apart. Because I take T3 and Levo when I get up and my second dose of T3 is at 3pm, I tend to take my Iron with my evening

Iron and b12 supplements
Hi all, Quick question, but if I supplement with a vitamin b complex, will this deplete iron reserves? I ask as my ferritin levels were at the low end of normal, so don't want them to deplete any further. Thanks!

Fat soluble vitamins
I have read that the more advanced cases of PBC have more problems with fat soluble absorption. I haven't been diagnosed yet but I have been living with low vitamin absorption for probably 20 years. The sublingual d vitamin (you just put the drops on the tongue.) is a great way to get vitamin d in winter
