Vasculitis of the eye
I have vasculitis of the eye and have steroid implants in the eye. Now the ozurdex implant is wearing away and the oedema is back in the eye. The immunosuppressant ( metothexrate) which is I was using for 16 weeks has not managed to stop the oedema. Till ozurdex was present, oedema was at bay. Now that

Swollen lymph nodes
I have a history of PTLD but that was years ago (It was spurred by mono and they took me off my
immunosuppressants
briefly and then changed me from Neoral to Cellcept thereafter). I told my primary care who ordered a CT scan but insurance wouldn’t cover it.

A tip for Australians with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia trying to access pneumococcal vaccination through the National Immunisation Program
What a morning I've had to get my third pneumococcal vaccine. I'll share the details here as the solution I found could help others with CLL in Australia who are having difficulty accessing these vaccines through the National Immunisation Program (NIP). In Australia, since 1 July 2020, it's standard

Immunosuppressants and Medical Marijuana
My wife had a kidney transplant 2 and 1/2 years ago. We will of course ask our nephrologist about it, but what are you hearing about use of medical marijuana in conjunction with the host of post-transplant drugs (mycophenolate/mycophenolic; tacrolimis/ prednisone; carvedilol)? Is there any sort of

Does this platform have a wider use?
I was just reading how Health Unlocked has benefited so many people during 2022 in SaskiaHU’s blog. I’m sure many of us, as transplant patients, benefit from the shared information and experiences, but I was wondering if there are any transplant consultants or other medical professional that tap into

Any runners on immunosuppressants?
I just started
immunosuppressants
(TNF-α blockers) and I was wondering if anyone of you here is on similar medication and how that might (or might not) interfere with your training. Should I reduce my training volume?

PMR/GCA and the Shingles Vaccine
I have seen information with regard to patients who are immunosuppressant that they can be offered the Shingles Vaccine. Ordinarily this vaccine is only offered to patients from age 70 until 79. I am 69.1.2 and have requested this vaccine from my GP but I cannot find the exact wording that says that

How many
immunosuppressants
are you on post-transplant, and for how long? I know the Mayo transplant team (Phoenix) will tell me some of this ... I'm just curious about other people's experiences.
