I have seen information with regard to patients who are immunosuppressant that they can be offered the Shingles Vaccine. Ordinarily this vaccine is only offered to patients from age 70 until 79.
I am 69.1.2 and have requested this vaccine from my GP but I cannot find the exact wording that says that it can be offered to patients age 50 to 69.
There is a difference with the vaccines for these groups. The older age group are offered a live vaccine and the younger age group a non-live vaccine.
If anyone can direct me to this information, I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance
Olivia
Just to add to my post, I live in Wales, United Kingdom and the rules are different in all the home countries (England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland). So if anyone knows any information for Wales, that would be so helpful. Thank you x

I think the age restriction still applies. The Shingrix is not given on age grounds but only to patients who are immunocompromised as far as I know. Over 80s don't get either.
Thank you very much for this information. It is now much clearer and it actually says to wait until the age of 70. I've only six months to go, but I will send the information to my GP so that he knows that I am satisfied with what the UK Government have advised.
Thank you once again for taking the time to respond
When I turned 70 years, I phoned my GPs surgery enquiring about the shingles vaccine. The receptionist booked an appointment informing me my records said it must not be Zostavax but Shingrix instead due to my AI condition. Two dose 8 weeks apart.
Hi, I had my covid and flu jabs two weeks before my 70th birthday, requeasted the shinglax one too, but they were adamant i had to wait till i was over 70!!
