I was just reading how Health Unlocked has benefited so many people during 2022 in SaskiaHU’s blog.
I’m sure many of us, as transplant patients, benefit from the shared information and experiences, but I was wondering if there are any transplant consultants or other medical professional that tap into our experiences on here to help formulate better care?
I know in the UK we have the British Transplant Society which tends to concentrate on the medical side but it often falls to charities (like Kidney Care UK) to advocate for the patients and their experiences, worries, and fears.
One thing that seemed to come out of the Covid 19 pandemic was the acknowledgment that we possibly all need the availability of more mental health support and guidance navigating the world as immunosuppressed patients.
Transplantation, medically, is a modern miracle but acceptance, recovery, and managing your health afterwards often takes a more holistic approach.
No doubt this is different in every country.
Are we being listened to? Are transplant centres sharing their good practices and lessons with other transplant centres nationally and internationally?
Just a thought.
