Experience with Tacrolimus with or without Azathioprine
Hi all! My drs are suggesting to put me on tacrolimus alongside AZA to help with my joint pain. Has anyone been on tacrolimus? With or without AZA or another immunosuppressant? How is your experience? Anyone have any knowledge/experience of long-term tacrolimus? Also, I got told by the nurse

Has anyone used cordyceps as an adjunctive treatment for kidney disease?
Cordyceps worm mold is widely used in China to treat kidney disease, and some scientific studies indicate that it may reduce creatinine values in patients with chronic kidney disease. I have never found found much personal benefit from it. Conclusions of recent Chinese study: "Current evidence shows

Waning antibody levels over time
The Guardian this afternoon ran an article about waning antibody levels after the vaccine, and why boosters are so important. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jul/22/uk-scientists-back-covid-boosters-as-study-finds-post-jab-falls-in-antibodies I managed to find what I think is the linked academic

Covid antibodies
Is there any guidance available for people who take
immunosuppressants
as to where we go next. I have read that 54% of people may develop some antibodies but will not have full protection. Should we still be shielding? I don't believe that there is much research information available.

Government’s plan recklessly exposes millions in the UK to infection when they could be vaccinated
In allowing mass infection, Boris Johnson’s government is pursuing a strategy that will lead to avoidable deaths and long term illness, say this group of authors The statement from the prime minister, Boris Johnson, on 12 July leaves little doubt that the government’s latest pandemic plan involves recklessly

CEV and post lockdown UK
As we near the so called ‘Freedom Day’ in the UK when all previous lockdown measures are set aside we have to think about protecting ourselves. Double vaxed - yes; care with who we meet - yes but have no idea who those we meet have had contact with; continue wearing a mask when shopping - yes. Yet I

Immunosuppressive?
On both occasions before receiving the Pfizer vaccine the practitioner - a different one each time - asked my medical conditions and after telling her I have fibromyalgia she told me that this complaint causes immunosuppression, has anyone else been told this. She also told me that I may not get any

Result Covid 19 positive.
Dear all, I received my result this morning from yesterday’s PCR Covid test which has come back positive. I had pneumonia last February 2020 and was very unwell until April 2020. Tests for Covid 19 we’re not being done at this early stage as it was a new virus that we were all just hearing about.

..however, after a second dose there is only a small and non-significant reduction in vaccine effectiveness
In most clinical risk groups, immune response to vaccination is maintained and high levels of VE are seen with both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. Reduced antibody response and vaccine effectiveness were seen after one dose of vaccine among the immunosuppressed group, however, after a second dose

Javids advice to immunosuppressed people
Any thoughts on this I think most of us already have to do this and I'm not sure the new Health minister understands and I've just read on a goverment email immunosuppressed only have 74% protection, which is better than none (https://www.gov.uk/government/news/covid-19-vaccines-highly-effective-in-most-people-in-clinical-risk-groups

Ruxolitinib and vaccine efficacy
Has anyone extracted anything useful from the blizzard of recent press coverage and small-scale studies with immunosuppressed individuals, about what exactly is the vaccine efficacy for those of us on Ruxolitinib? I am thoroughly confused and how safe I am now that I’ve been double vaccinated. Can our

500,000 Immunosuppressed in UK
There was an interesting bit on Radio 4 Today this morning. I think many people don’t realise they are in this category - I think we are if we are on pred. Can someone confirm please?

Probiotics, MF and Ruxolitinib
Just something that came up while I was chatting briefly to my haematology nurse. I asked her if taking probiotics was a good idea for me, fully expecting her to say yes. However, it was a definite no, because my gut bacteria will not be the normal mixture. We didn't continue the conversation as she
