Hello all. Hope you are doing OK. It said as I’m on immunosuppressants, anyone living with me is eligible for the vaccine and to send me their details to sort it out. Mightily impressed. Has anyone else had this? Take care D x

Yes I received my text on 1 April but all our children have left home so not able to take advantage of it.It's good that you've had yours, there's been a number of posts on here and other sites complaining that GPs don't seem to know about it.

First I'd heard of it! Sadly I live alone so it's been bit difficult through all this - but then extremely difficult in a different way for those living with for obvious reasons ie risk.

I was told by my GP Surgery that I couldn’t have it, much less anyone else in my household, because it wasn’t my turn yet. When I reminded them I was on immunosuppressants as I have Lupus, I was told “that doesn’t mean you can jump the queue”!

That's so bad. Have you tried sending any of the links to them eg gov.uk/government/news/new-... are plenty of other PDFs online too asking GPs to enact this.

Good luck

🤞

That’s a disgrace!

Hi if you live in the UK you should’ve had your jab ages ago. I have SLE but only take Hydroxy and had my jab with group 6. You definitely wouldn’t be jumping the queue. Have you tried using the NHS booking site. Wasn’t what I used but a neighbour who is asthmatic and prone to pneumonia did and got an appointment before his GP contacted him about one. Think they ask questions about your medical history. You may not get an appointment at your GP’s but hopefully you’ll be offered one somewhere close by. Hope this helps x

I’ve not been invited at all! Should be in vulnetable group and I’m 55. I’m writing to them tomorrow x

I'd just call the GP surgery and have a little chat! x

That’s disgraceful you should have been on priority, it should flag up through your doctors surgery. If it hasn’t you need to speak to the person who put you on the drug

It does sound like you've been very let down Bakbre. Just dreadful. What did your rheumy make of all this?

I have a telephone appointment with him next Monday & I am going to flag it up with him then.

Good. Very pleased for you. If you can, before hand have a look at your bloods - do you get access via your GP system? Mine is Systmonline but previously PatientAccess which was brilliant compared.. Or just call your GP surgery to get the last few blood test outcomes... ie what are your complement 3 and 4 levels, your white blood cells, your general immune test outcomes, everything... and then maybe read up the lastest risk to those on immunosuppressants and covid, there are more and more research papers out there. Obviously clinicians are much more aware of the risks now, having read up the new research. I just had Colorectal surgeon say that, unless I am screaming in pain, best not even to have a colonoscopy let alone any operations as the risks are too high with immune system plus covid risk out there. I take it you have read those with immunosuppression naturally or on immunosupporesants (or both) - their immune systems might not make the antibodies to covid as well as others, post vaccine. Research is ongoing right now so be interesting to see outcome (and hoping for the best results!). Good luck Bakbre. Let us know how it goes if you feel able. x

Thank you for the info & I will let you know the outcome

Hi Paul Howard posted to say people with lupus can now book through the national line. This might be even easier than the GP (if my experience was anything to go by). Ring 119 and they should help and you’ll get both appointments at the same time.

HiYes, I received a letter from my gp a couple of weeks ago.

Excellent news, it should have been much sooner in my humble opinion and I’m amazed given the constant reports of failures on this site by GPs that they managed to be so informed and able to coordinate a response! You can tell I’m ‘on one’ about GPs 😜

Where is the uk in the vaccination process. I thought they would be much farther ahead than my country? In my state tons of 16 and above have already received their second doses. My state is a month away from being fully finished with all 16 up vaccinations and hopefully the 12-15 group will be FDA approved in a few weeks. The state decided to open to the highest risks ( 90 percents of deaths were in 65 up) and not by comorbidity and solely opened by age group to expedite the process. Best decision ever!
