I had an

recurrence
Had a bag (
ileostomy
) which was reversed after eight months. Eight rounds of carboplatin and taxol. Last June the cancer recurred and I've been on carboplatin and caelyx every twenty eight days for six months.

Travel Insurance
I have an
ileostomy
and limited systemic sclerosis. Can anyone recommend a good insurer as I dare not risk going away without it. Thanks. Debbie

I'm ready to give up
It's been almost two years since endo caused me to have a bowel resection and
ileostomy
and my bowels still don't work. I depend on laxatives and enemas to move my bowels every few days.

Life is becoming almost impossible to bear.....
Since my bowel resection,
ileostomy
and reversal, my bowels have refused to work. I rely on laxatives and painful enemas every few days to go to the toilet. I'm on so many tablets, I've lost count. Tablets for migraines, hormone tablets, nerve pain tablets, morphine,...... The list is endless.

What was the best thing you did for yourself to help your recover from an ileostomy surgery?
My mother had an
ileostomy
3 weeks ago and is not doing well at all, in fact she is literally wasting away in front of us. The only walking she does is from recliner to bed to bathroom. She does not go walking as instructed, she does not bathe as instructed or do anything for that matter.

What would cause stoma sensitivity and pain that feels like you've been punched in the stomach? The stoma is also very rigid and rubbery.
I had to have a temporary
ileostomy
put in at the age of 3 and a permanent
ileostomy
put in at the age of 5 that included the total removal of my large intestine and rectum. Since then, I have had multiple revisions due to the stoma site becoming problematic.

Any help would be appreciated
I have stage 4 endometriosis and after 5 surgeries including a bowel resection and an
ileostomy
which was later reversed, life is getting more and more difficult. I'm currently divorced and living alone, working full time in a very difficult organisation.

Is worsening pain in and around your stoma normal 2weeks post op?
I had a loop
ileostomy
performed 2weeks ago and have started having a lot of pain in the stoma and surrounding area. The area is swollen too. Is this just things healing? I'm not sure what to expect :/

REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL!
Part 4: My
ileostomy
(stoma) HATES chemo and now that it's finished, it should settle down a bit which means I hopefully won't have to get up two or three times a night to empty a bag of poo (sorry if tmi!), somehow this is so much worse than getting up that often for a wee!

Help with bowel problems!!! Please I'm at the end of my rope....
I had a bowel resection and an
ileostomy
in November 2012 and a reversal in February 2013. This was due to having endometriosis stage 4. After the reversal I had ileus for two weeks and was only discharged after it got better.

Help with my Bowels !! Please.....
I had a bowel resection and an
ileostomy
in November 2012 and a reversal in February 2013. After the reversal I had ileus for two weeks and was only discharged after it got better. Since the reversal, I haven't been able to open my bowels (go to the toilet) without the aid of laxatives.

Do you have any tips for recovering from an Ileostomy op and how to manage your bag?
Hello, I'm 23 and having a loop
Ileostomy
on the 12th. I'm not too sure of what to expect so Any tips would be a huge help to me! Should I expect to be in a lot of pain post op? Also, what is the recovery time like? Sorry there are so many questions :) Kirsty

My husband has an ileostomy. We noticed it and the area around it seemed to be protruding more and more every day for the past 2 weeks.
The ostomy nurses confirmed that he has a hernia. He cannot get in to see his doctor for that for another 2 weeks. What kind of an impact will this have on him? He is scheduled to have it reversed (reconnected) in September after he has finished chemo. Will this hernia present any complications in reconnecting

Just a hello, and an update
We've been very worried for the last few weeks, as his recent endoscopy showed 50-100 rectal polyps (a great deal more than the 20 found on the last one), and we were expecting the specialist to say that he would need a permanent
ileostomy
this year.

Long term Zoladex use
Since then I've had 4 surgeries, the most recent one being a bowel resection and an
ileostomy
in December which has since been reversed. Each time I have surgery I'm given a Zoladex shot for 6 months with HRT.
