Ibuprofen

I find if I rub Ibuprofen into the areas of ache it subsided. There are no other symptoms when I get this, no dizziness or breathlessness. I feel generally OK, just these aches. They do not occur due to any excessive exercise. Any advice much appreciated

When it's all happening, I'm dosed to the max on cocodamel and ibuprofen to help with the pain - which creates the deadly cycle of constipation, bloatedness, etc. Can anyone advise me on what I can do apart from following up at the hospital?

I rang the nurse and was told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen too but it’s not helping. I’m full of cold constantly and trying to go to work is a killer. Can anyone plz advise me what I can possibly do ? Thank you 😊

Also he suggested I took Ibuprofen for pain relief and Omerprazole to prevent stomach ulcers. If Ibuprofen works for PMR why are we prescribed Pred. when we get PMR? I'd be grateful for any answers.

No more diarrhea, too I haven't taken a single ibuprofen in 14months! I just want everyone to try this diet. It's seems very restrictive and it is. You will have to spend a lot of time cooking and preparing food. The hunger goes away after a month. It is not a carb free diet.

I take 1000g paracetamol And 1000g ibuprofen, this quiets the pain for a while. I work physical, go to gym ,have dogs. So I'm not lazy. My husband is doing the shopping at the moment, I just couldn't muster the energy. I wish it would stop.

Ibuprofen isn't a treatment for PMR - prednisone is that treatment. But if you need to "top off" with some Advil (ibuprofen) every once in a while, then why shouldn't you?

I’ve read Paracetamol is okay to take but not NSAIDs like Ibuprofen?

I have to take 2 x paramol n 1 ibuprofen every 2 to 3 hours to cope . It lasts around 6 to 7 days . The last2 months I have experienced awful stitch like rib pain mostly left side and also acute breast pain in left side where I have non cancerous lump .

There doesn't seem any point telling a GP as they will usually just tell me to take ibuprofen and i'm almost sure they won't acknowledge EDS or even know what it is. Many thanks for your thoughts/comments on this. Terry

Is Ibuprofen more effective than optalgin? What is best dosage please? The nurses say to take whatever works. Is this what to expect since there is no fever. Thanks. Pinkylee

So long story short: my GP messed up my repeat prescription of omazeprole to go with my ibuprofen so I couldn't pre-dose before my period. I get an upset stomach with just the ibuprofen so the omazeprole helps settle it. I don't need it any other time of my cycle.

In his opinion I should be off steroids within 4 months and just use paracetamol or ibuprofen Altogether not happy

Steroids pills for 5 days 3 times , felt a bit better for 3 days , but still like I had a bad cold, then ibuprofen and paracetamol every 4 hours, then just paracetamol every 4 hours. Nothing worked. We are in March and I'm the same. Still coughing, nose still blocked and a general exhaustion.

Then symptoms showed some improvement and I decided to take two ibuprofen. Stayed on it every 6 hours. Today I'm better but not all better. Mom has Lupus, my father now deceased once thought he had gout.

I took advice and rested, iced and took ibuprofen for 2 weeks. Tried a short trial run in Thursday but couldn't do it. Decided to see my doctor who diagnosed a strained or sprained knee after looking and feeling for about 20 second!

After 1 month I develop gastritis (probably my stomach was weakened from Ibuprofen and too much fried oil has raised the acid …). I started to take Pantoprazole for 3 weeks and Sucralfate. The stomach pain has reduced significantly, but not entirely.

By the end of week 3 my knees had all but given up and I thought I would have to throw the towel in, but an extra days rest and a good dose of Ibuprofen got me through it and by then end of week 4 both me and my knees felt stronger than ever.

I’m still taking cocodamol and ibuprofen throughout the day but when it wears off before I take new ones I’m in a ridiculous amount of pain! Thank you in advance for any of your feedbacks 🤗

I then started taking Ibuprofen which does help but I found out recently that you can not take it for a long time. I only take occasionally when pain is really bad. help
