So I’m a week post lap now, I had a cyst drained on my left ovary, endometriosis was removed from my left side pelvic wall and on the front and back of my uterus and near my rectum- safe to say I’m feeling worse for wear right now, haha!
I’m due on my period (2 days late now) and for the past couple of night I’ve felt sick to my stomach, up in the night sweating and I’ve got immense pain mainly on my left hand side where they found most of the endo.
I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? And what you did to help the nausea/pain? I’m still taking cocodamol and ibuprofen throughout the day but when it wears off before I take new ones I’m in a ridiculous amount of pain!
Thank you in advance for any of your feedbacks 🤗

Hi the pain can take a while to go down as your inside have to heal and unfortunately until then theres still pain, i had 2 cysts drained and endo removed from uterus and abdo wall. To relive pain i took cocodamal and ibuprofen do you eat before taking ibuprofen? If not that can make you feel sick. at night it wears off and unless you want to be up every 4-6 hours theres not much that i found could help. I found a hot water bottle helped a little. I was given anti sickness which i took for sick ness . Hope you start feeling better soon
Hey, thank you for your reply! 😊 how long did it take for the pain to go away for you and did you get pain on the side they removed the cyst/endo more than the other side? I’ve got a 2 week sick note for work and I’m unsure whether I’ll need an extra week- I thought my body would be healing faster than it is haha!
Sometimes I haven’t been taking ibuprofen with food, that might be causing the sickness, thank you for the advice and thank you for your kindness! 😊
I had cysts and endo both sides so pain was both sides the first week and half was the worst and it started getting better after that, i was signed off 2 weeks by hosp but ended up having 4 weeks off and 4 weeks light duties. I am on my feet for 13 hours at work though hence the long time needed to get back to full time. Your body is heeling you just cant see it as its inside its only been a week hopefully you will start feeling a bit better each day
I got squeezed in last minute because someone cancelled so I had a 2 and a half week turnaround between the two- I also had been pressing for it for so long so I was top of the list! Thank you ☺️
My doctor gave me a sticky patch like a bandaid that you put behind your ear and I woke up from my lap and felt great! I wasn't nauseous at all which I normally am! See if you can get one from your doctor or a drug store.
I am 5 days post op and have also been experiencing the same kind of pain on my right side as before my lap but not as bad. It’s a relief to come across someone who is also not feeling 100% great right away! My theory is we’re still healing from the surgery and we won’t see the effects (no pain) until everything is back to normal inside. Feel better soon!
Oh I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish! Yeah that’s what I’ve put it down too, I guess it takes longer to heal inside than we thought haha! Did you have a mirena inserted when you had your surgery? I had mine re fitted and I’m having such bad bloating but I can’t decide whether it’s from the op or the mirena 🤣 thank you! You too ☺️
