HRT Following hysterectomy
Hi, I’ve recently had total
hysterectomy
and oophorectomy with extensive excision of endo. I’ve started HRT (oestrogen gel & progesterone tablets) but I’m experiencing pain in my lower back and legs like I used to get with endo, has anybody else experienced this, and if so how did you manage it?

Dienogest or Hysterectomy?
My surgeon wants me to at least try dienogest but in my head I feel, if I'm going to go on a contraceptive (i know its not Registered in the UK as one) I may as well just have a
hysterectomy
now as ultimately that's where im headed.

Rare ovarian cancer
I was diagnosed in 2017 and had a full
hysterectomy
. It recurred in 2019 and I had major surgery to remove 15 lymph nodes and it has just recurred again. Am about to have another operation to remove more lymph nodes and possibly my kidney as the lump is attached to it.

Hair thinning and Hypothyroidism
Just to clarify I am a bottom ranger who has went mildly under in my Free levels of T4, then in range (bottom) on and off for four years since a total
Hysterectomy
. My percentage through range T4 is only 13% and my T3 is 24%.

Hernias
However I blame the initial surgical team for not cautioning me about hernias. 30% of
hysterectomy
patients regardless of cancer get hernias as the muscle tissue has been compromised. I learned that abdominal braces should be worn for 6 months and control panties ever after learned the hard way.

Some advice please
My consultant has advised that my options now are to have a
hysterectomy
and/or possible bowel surgery. He is reluctant to do the
hysterectomy
because of my age and I don’t have a family. Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, what did you decide to do? Thank you

Living with Endo.
If I had surgery to remove this, then I could end up with a colostomy bag and a full
hysterectomy
. I tried IVF 5 times but no eggs, i then tried IVF with donor eggs all top grade but no pregnancy at all.

Is HRT so bad?
I told a friend yesterday that I might need a
hysterectomy
(for Endo), and she said ‘oh I do hope not as you will be put on a very strong dose of HRT - surely there’s another option?’. What’s the big deal with going on HRT? Maybe I am not clued up enough but should I be more scared of it?

Prostap and bleeding
I’m on prostap 3monthly and add back tibolone for a max of 2years then a
hysterectomy
. I’m on my second injection and so far everything has been great, minimal pain and side effects seemed to have calmed down with HRT. However tonight I felt the dreaded feeling, I have started to bleed!

Decapeptyl concerns
I understand some folk go on it to tide them over til a
hysterectomy
but am hoping to avoid that and see if i can ride this out til menopause comes naturally (I'm 42) anyway, after asking again what the alternatives were she finally she offered the option of the mini pill and basically left it to me

How to increase my platelet count naturally
Since my
hysterectomy
my CA125 has decreased from 157 (prior to my
hysterectomy
) to the teens now and was told today all my other levels were OK. The hospital said it's the chemo that has caused my platelet count to drop.
