Hysterectomy.

One week after op. I am 84. No bowel movement despite Movicol. Can I now take laxative. Experience please

Hi Alstromeria. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg. Also try Lactulose liquid. I had that after my ops from the hospital. If a radiator is by your toilet put your arm on it for warm as this has helped me in the past. Your first poo motion might be very hard and a little painful because of the anesthetic in your system. I hope this works and you feel better soon. Sue xx

hi Alstromeria prunes i have albran flakes chop a prune in small peaces and slice a banana in and dark graps and then i put a actimel probotic in and hot water in as warm warter help to move your bowels good luck all the best

Thank you for your advice. I am now taking my regular breakfast which is very much like yours except that I use flaxseed. At the moment things have started working with the help of Movicol
