my daughter is to have a hysterectomy and the waiting list round here is at least twelve months I want to offer to pay for the op but does anyone have any idea of the cost? I’ve seen quoted £7800 but this presumable excludes consultation etc etc?

cost of hysterectomy?

🤔 Cost….can depend on which area you live in, which private hospital you choose and what type of hysterectomy is involved.
Google ..private hysterectomy ……to see options in your area.
For example….this link is to Nuffield, and the cost in my area..around £10k. Scroll down the link…click on the box for your area to find prices.
I had one last year near Bath in Somerset and it cost £7,600 excluding consultant and test fees but included post op check and one physiotherapy appt.
can you not ask your go to refer you to an nhs hospital out if your area that doesn’t have such a long waiting list - some areas also book you in to a private hospital and nhs pays
Yes I’m sure this might be possible for GP to,refer to another hospital. But waiting lists are long. this is for my daughter. We know the waiting list - even if using private hospitals - is twelve months on the NHS.
What I was trying to establish was how much approx the op would be if private and therefore if we her parents could afford to offer to pay for this.
About £10,000 all in by the look of it.
