Hi everyone, I am going in for a hysterectomy and ablation surgery on Saturday. I have adenomyosis and endo on my ovaries, uterus and bowel. They plan to remove my uterus and tubes (leave the ovaries to allow for natural menopause if possible), and the lm a second surgeon is going to remove as much endo as possible from my bowel and any surrounding areas.
Did anyone have to self isolate before recent surgery? My daughter had an op the following week and she had been advised to self isolate, OT at work have questioned why I’m not self isolating as 2 other ladies have had similar ops this year and have isolated prior. Also, when were you dispensed and started on the bowel prep? I’ve had it before for a sigmoidoscopy but I can’t remember the timings. I have my pre-op coming up but last week when I spoke to the team they weren’t very helpful.
Also any tips on recovery, my surgeon told me I’m having a laparoscopic hysterectomy but the hospital sent me the preparation leaflet for an abdominal hysterectomy- so that’s another question I need answered.
many thanks.
