I know many of you have gone through a hysterectomy only to have endometriosis return soon afterwards. When it returns how does it manifest itself? Does it become like a mass inside of us (a bit like a fibroid?) Or does it attach itself to other organs in the absence of cervix etc? Does back pain return? I'd just really like to hear women's experiences of what it does post hysterectomy and if you managed to take HRT. Thanks everyone x

Endometriosis after hysterectomy.

I had a full hysterectomy with bilateral oophectomy it took them twice as long as they expected and a bit. I've struggled to recover the time lines were way out I've just started to feel better but just had a right week of awful pain again I haven't took hrt as I've been to scared too in case it comes back. My uterus was adherred to my bladder and the scarring was dense on the pouch of Douglas and to my bowel it all had to get shaved I had a fibroid they hadn't seen etc etc. I've had a CT scan to see if it's back or kidney stones which I don't think is likely. For me I couldn't cope before but it's not the easy road out. There are other people who sail through it I think. 🥰
Thank for this. Thankfully, I don't have much pain and I haven't for the last 5 years but I'm bleeding so much without zoladex. I have the same as you with fibroids too. I think it will be a long recovery time and I'm also frightened of taking too much HRT as I am sure that this is what started fibroid growth. I'm scared that having this operation will bring the pain back.
