Pulmonary Fibrosis/Pulmonary Hypertension how long?
I know that we have very different experiences with our ILD. I had a look on an American PH news site and see that they have been testing an oral spray which has given quite favourable results for PF sufferers. Wonder how long it will take for UK to get it! Here is an extract from the article. It would

Long term use of Duloxetine
Hi, I have been taking Duloxetine continuously since 2003. I did try Sertraline but I couldn't function. Seeing my GP at the moment is a nightmare. I am just aware that my anxiety episodes are getting more frequent with no rhyme or reason for them. Have they stopped working? and is it dangerous to be

Traveling on a plane with liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension
Hi I’m new to all this. My partner was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis back in may 2022 and spent 7 weeks in hospital. In February this year he was taken into intensive care with a GI bleed and needed blood transfusions and was told he had portal hypertension. He had a follow up endoscopy 4 weeks later

Blood Pressure tablets
I have raised blood pressure. Prof. Graham Hughes recommended Bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg tablets. These have been very good. However my blood pressure has risen slightly - I have tried amlodipine 5mg and also Ramipril 2.5mg and I have had side effects from both. My GP is not very helpful. Anybody

Alpha fetoprotein test for cirrhosis patients??
Hi, is it standard for this test to be done every 6 months with the liver scan? I've just had my bloods done (post liver scan and pre consultant appointment) and spotted that I have been tested for this for the first time and the results are hidden from my Patient Knows Best account ... should I be worried

How often should varices be checked?
My husband had three separate episodes of variceal bleeds in the fall of 2020. Esophageal and gastric varices which were either banded or glued. Sent home and no follow up, nothing. Now 18 months later he was back in hospital with another gastric bleed. It took four endoscopies to finally locate and

Advice on Flight Socks for travel
Maybe someone knows and can help with my decision, is there any advantage to Full Length over Knee High compression socks. If so does the advantage outweigh the discomfort of the full length socks. This is for a twelve hour flight and I have no particular leg problems just an Paroxysmal AF sufferer with

Should I be concerned
I am currently taking Ramipril 10mg , Lercandipine 20mg & Indapamide 2.5mg. Despite being on these my BP is still on the high side. I eat healthy, get plenty of exercise, don't drink or smoke. I have even cut caffeine out not that I drank much tea in the first place. When I first started Lercandipine

Stop taking tablets and BP goes down
I have suffered from high BP for 25 years, during which time I have been prescribed up to five tablets to be taken every day. Concentrated on daily exercise and drinking lots of water and my BP became more manageable, and was controlled by ramipril and amlodopine, although still occasions when it would

High cholesterol & levothyroxine
Hi I have just had blood tests done @ GP to check thyroid/cholesterol. I do not have results but have a telephone appt. to discuss on Thursday this week - which normally means something is wrong. In the last six months my TSH has been 0.12-0.16 in a range beginning 0.3 & upwards. Doctor has been fine

BETA BLOCKERS....RLS symptoms
I take nebivolol (beta blocker) and micardis to treat high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat (minor).I have refractory rls and have just commenced weaning slowly off Sifrol (.250 mg) Just wondering if ALL beta blockers worsen rls or does anyone have one that’s ok to use? My cardiologist had no idea

Oxycodone and Laxative
I have just started on Oxycodone to replace Oramorph... 5 mg fast relief . Suffering from Bladder Camcer. Problem is that I then need a laxative because both of the above make me constipated. Oxycodone appears not to react well with Dulcosoft laxative. Anyone any suggestions ?

the culprit is in the cbd I am taking
HI, thanks to all of you who have responded to my last post. After days of wondering as what is the reason the oxycodone I have taking for years lost effectiveness all of a sudden. It is not the pregabalin but the high-dose CBD I have been taking in the past half month reduces the effectiveness of

Contents of TEVA's other products?
This is not really a thyroid-related question, but I'm hoping someone knows the answer. I'm well aware of the problems with TEVA levothyroxine, and have successfully managed to avoid it so far. But my GP has recently diagnosed me with elevated blood pressure, and prescribed Ramipril for me. The 1.25mg
