Recently been diagnosed with cardiomegaly and diastolic dysfunction. Am on my 5th blood pressure medication (tried ramipril, Losartan -chest tightness with both) had amlodipine but water retention and struggling to walk. Put on Indapamide- chest tightness again but reduced fluid now to try bendroflumethiazide. Anyone had any issues? I am still awaiting urgent cardiology appointment as there is a 30 week wait.

Hi! Knowing that about 67% of people in UK are overweight and obese, I will blindly give you the advise - if you count to such people, reduce the weight to normal and not only the BP, but also all other possible health problems you have will disappear or will get better.

Lately, I was measuring BP values 165/110 or even above, especially in the evening. I am not overweight, but have collected some fat during the winter, as usual. After having reduced my weight for only couple of kg, my evening BP is at 140/90 again, what is quite OK for my 70 yo.

I am taking no BP medication and never intend to... Free choice!

Tbh I cut ramipril last month and this month I'm cutting out my other blood pressure tsblets( for get the name whike sat here) because I've had dry mouth and cough since starting the 18th months ago. Co incidence o don't know but need to try.
