Small rant on hearing test!
I went for a pre-hearing test at my local health centre and was told that ear pain is not a symptom of Meneirs disease? I have all the classic symptoms of Meneirs (dizziness, vertigo, nausea and tinnitus) but I also get shooting/stabbing pains in ears occasionally. I was told by the nurse who performed

Never-ending confusion! Positive and negative IGg blood results
I'm sick of them messing with me to be honest, I just want a straight answer, or at least a
heparin
trial to see if it makes a difference! Basically I'm just looking for some advice, what do you do when they can't make their minds up?!

Symptoms fluctuating
I had put the improvement down to the
heparin
as did the haematologist so I am wondering if symptoms fluctuate in APS as they do in MS? My neuro and haemo are now thinking that the MS was probably never as severe symptomatically as it was appearing but was being masked by the APS.

My
heparin
levels have remained 'perfect' since injecting, I have my 20 week scan scheduled with fetal medicine this Friday and then further scans at 28,32 and 36 weeks.

Warfarin alternatives
Shortly I will need an operation on my eyelid which may require stopping Warfarin and having
heparin
injections. Leading up to this, I had infections in the eyelid which were treated with antibiotics, again affecting INR. Also I needed weekly blood tests leading up to the cardioversion.

I need help! Prof. Khasmashta treated me with Clexane & since then I have tried other meds, that are not working. Anyone else
I have stopped the warfarin & I am using the Lovenox waiting to start
heparin
. Is anyone else on
heparin
? I spoke to the FDA who explained to me that any biological drug will work differently & because of trade secrets I will not find out the differences. I will try to get Clexane from London.

Is
heparin
OK long term and any other MSers with APS here? Sorry for being greedy! And thanks for running this site; I have a feeling it could be handy. B

Jobs worth GP strikes again, I'm so mad
The last thing was giving him exactly 30
heparin
to tide him over until he saw the Prof again at end of May. But no follow up appointment, this guy only works part time too.

Warfarin v heparin
I had a three month trial of
heparin
in 2008 and from what I can recall felt good. Then I went onto warfarin but this coincided with the first of four shoulder operations.

I went from being excited because I had a diagnosis & a treatment , to totally depressed and frustrated.
They gave me Arixta which is another type of low molecular
heparin
. After 1 week of warfarin my INR is 2.5 & I feel nothing like I did with the clexane. I do not know if you get to a INr of 2.5-3.5 do you instantly feel better. Will my body stop aching. Will the swelling go down in my feet & legs.

Scared and upset!
They gave me
heparin
and I am now on warfarin and they tell me I'm safe. I then had an episode in A&E the day before New Year's Eve and that really freaked me out.

Evidence for Clopidogrel as well as Wafarin
I think that as INR will not seem to go up despite ever increasing Wafarin dose they are going to suggest
Heparin
(have needle phobia).

LAS-is it hughes syndrome?
All that was said was i needed to stay in range and was given
heparin
injections to be taken if my inr fell below 2. I asked the registrar if there were any support groups and she said no.

It's official.....
I once told her that my INR was well below 2 and this was worrying, she didn't really understand why this was an issue, a couple days later I had frantic phone calls from her as she had spoken to my consultant who was very worried about this and wanted me to have
heparin
injections if it was still low

Strep b meningitis
My daughter was 5 week old on 23/6/12when she had strep b meningitis. In the evening she was very restless and started vomiting and rolling back. We took her to A & E and they just grabbed her away from us and started giving her antibiotics and her lumber puncture. She spend one day at royal Berkshire

Desperate, Can You Help Me?
I tried to talk to him about
Heparin
or Xarelta, and he said they are not approved by FDA for APS. I said neither is Coumadin and of course he became angry. Also had to fire my gp, he just kept repeating “aps does not cause those symptoms” and urging me to see a psychiatrist.
