My son was diagnosed with meningococcal meningitis a week after his first birthday he spent a week in hospital (March 2013) and thankfully he made a speedy recovery! Since then we have had follow up appointments and hearing test's amazingly he was discharged from all after care last month (October 2013

Can dizziness or lightheadidness be be caused by both the 'Cerebellum' and the 'ears' together? Are they both connected in some way?
Just been for a hearing test and told my left ear hearing is very good (deaf in right ear). I have problems with noises in left ear and low or high pitched sounds that instantly change like the flick of a switch. Occassionally I experience sharp needle like pains in both ears although never at the same

antiphospholipid syndrome attacks lungs need help
As far as the current treatment doctors give her only medrol (corticosteroids) and
heparin
did not give her. Docotors do not dare to give her cytostatics. The biggest problem is that I can not figure out what it destroys the lungs.

Clexane/heparin
She also says that then if my INR went below 3 I could have a
heparin
dose. What I want to ask is how much does a one off dose tend to raise the INR? I know we are all different so a precise number is not poss. but I'd like just some idea.

Has anyone tried the 3 week heparin/fragmin trial?
Hi everyone, I am starting fragmin tomorrow, I'm nervous about injecting myself but excited that this could give me my life back. I have been on plavix for the last month and have had an improvement in my headaches but thats all. I still can't really use my brain, take things in, remember things,

How long did you take septrin after stopping cyclophosmide?
My Mum is recovering from pcp pneumonia, she stopped taking cyclophosmide about six weeks ago and tapered pred down to 7.5mg. The pneumonia seems to have cleared up although she still coughs, so her Dr is now suggesting she stops taking septrin. This concerns me as its unknown territory for me. How

Have decided to start recording and writing my struggle either to look for positive stories or help others if I am successful.
I had stopped the aspirin and had been put on
heparin
during the pregnancy due to my weight and the fact it was twins. Now I know I need both as aspirin crosses the placenta and I have this sticky blood.

How do you get proper treatment when the dr you see at Lupus Unit St T says he will see me in one year!
She gave me a dose of
Heparin
as she felt I really needed to get my INR level up. Fortunately I did not have a clot at the time but I have had a stroke in May and several TIA's as well as falling over and generally feeling really ill all the time.

Prednisolone tapering causing rash?
Mums tapering off pred, 5mg a week from 30mg and now on 10mg for the last two days. She has a rash now on her belly, back and under arm area. Is this caused by the pred tapering? Anybody else had this? She went onto septrin profolaxis over a week ago as well.

PCP Pneumonia prophylaxis choice.
After a terrible infection of pcp pneumonia Mums consultant has decided to take her off iv antibiotics, they have to remove her line and don't want to try canulating her again, so an oral antibiotic is required. She had haemolytic reactions to iv septrin (co-trimoxozle) which caused lots of problems

Costs of clexane/heparin
Just wondering what the costs are in various parts of the world for clexane/
heparin
? Here in Australia I'm paying just over $36 for 10 syringes of 80mg clexane and I'm taking two shots a day. On the pack it says the full cost is $91

Hi, Anyone out there got success stories after multiple ivf failures? On 2 week wait test on fri, but had spotting and bad cramps yet again.
On 75mg asprin and
heparin
