Luteal phase support treatments in IVF
Have heard about the use of low-dose aspirin,
heparin
and prednisolone to help aid implantation of the embryo but wondered how frequently they are used in practice? Would be interesting to hear your experiences of these. Thanks

MRI scan very very noisy and had issues about ear plugs.
I went for MRI scan to look into my inner ear yesterday and after wards my hyperacusis was louder. I went home and could hear all the different banging, clanging and thudding sounds of the machine all night long in my bed. I knew beforehand there was a risk so I took my own ear plugs which were superior

A couple of boxes ticked ✅ after getting Neonatal BM
My little man has had his 8 week check which thankfully he passed on head control and passed his hearing test. Yeay He has his follow up care meeting yesterday and they did a couple of Basic tests they were happy with. Fingers crossed! We are quietly optimistic for the future. We are so proud of him

Long-term tinnitus problem. Any help/advice please
Hello all, this is my first post on here. I have had a form of tinnitus for almost two and a half years now, and the medical professional seems incapable of diagnosing or treating the problem. I have been to several GPs, had an MRI scan (clear) and last month finally got to see a specialist after a ten-month

B12 and Trigeminal Neuralgia
My story follows the usual pattern. Two years, 7 GP’s, 5 consultants, a dozen or more blood tests, 2 ECG’s, 2 chest x-rays, 1 nerve conduction test, 1 hearing test and 1 brain MRI (involving 2 flights to Glasgow paid for by the NHS) only to turn full circle to arrive at a diagnosis of Vitamin B12

Hearing aid experience/recommendations?
I recently went along to a BTA support group for the first time (I highly recommend going!). One of the key learnings from many I spoke to was that a hearing aid can really help, especially when you're having a T spike. I got referred by my GP to our local ENT team and was lucky enough to be seen by

Worrying
Have an MRI tomorrow, initially went to the GP because I thought I had an ear infection. Had Tinnitus in one ear and a feeling of pressure in there too. It was clear but I was referred for a hearing test, which showed a slight loss but not much more than would be expected at my age, I'll be 60 in 5 days

Should I be on anticoagulants?
However, the A&E team who saw me in AF put me straight on
heparin
(I was out of the country so they also gave me enough needles to get me home) and warned that I was at risk without it. Like everyone, I'm worried about blood clots forming and causing a stroke.

Memory issues!!
The rheumatologist suggested daily
heparin
if clopidogrel doesn't help but am reluctant to do this had it thru my pregnancys and hated it. Is this normal for aps? I know it's not anything serious ie stroke as had normal mri few wks ago and its ongoing not just a one off, just driving me mad!

Question about Nausea, and non-wafarin treatment options for APS
But I feel the biggest blockade I face is not having access to LMW
heparin
(or fragmin/lovanox) in parallel to the warfarin. My hemotologist is unwilling to do this in conjunction with Coumadin, outside the hospital. Boosting Coumadin with
heparin
doesn't seem to be a standard therapy in the US.

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS -by Prof David Baguley,
When will there be a cure for tinnitus? Major efforts are underway around the world towards really effective treatments, new spirit of collaboration, but I can’t put a timescale on this. Can tinnitus be related to Pernicious Anaemia? I don’t know of any direct link, but any medical condition that

Useful Link to keep a check on your hearing
Hello, I thought I would share this link as I have had some hearing issues after being diagnosed with PMR and I wish I had taken this hearing test at the onset so I could keep a track of it. Hope you find it useful, I use it as a differential test (didn't bother to calibrate it) always using the same
