My AF and my spinal operation.
I did get one
heparin
injection into my abdomen then. My brother has white coat syndrome due to having his bowel punctured during a colonoscopy. His blood pressure soars and he has to have tranquillisers prior to treatments. He suggested that this might be beneficial for me and my surgeon agreed.

Viral Meningitis Headache help please...
I am new to the site. I had viral meningitis about ten weeks ago. Although the lumbar puncture didn't show this definitively, I had all the symptoms regarded as those of VM and spent 6 days in hospital. Now I'm struggling with the headache, neck ache, stiff back, dizziness and general feeling of exhaustion

Long haul flight
Does anyone have any links from NICE which I could possibly include in a letter to request I be given
heparin
to fly with? Am I correct thinking I should be given
heparin
- 7/8 hr flight then straight onto a 14hr flight?

3 down 3 to go! Now with a PICC line
And no bleeding out despite the
heparin
! And today's 3rd fec treatment was 100% better than the last! So much easier what a relief. No more anxiety about receiving the next 3 treatments.

Luteal phase support treatments in IVF
Have heard about the use of low-dose aspirin,
heparin
and prednisolone to help aid implantation of the embryo but wondered how frequently they are used in practice? Would be interesting to hear your experiences of these. Thanks

APS awareness and treatment
I was diagnosed in 2009, following extended illness with UC and several clotting incidents (DVTs and PEs), at the time thought to be caused by UC and periods of illness induced inactivity - even though some clots occurred in hospital while under clexane/
heparin
cover.

MRI scan very very noisy and had issues about ear plugs.
I went for MRI scan to look into my inner ear yesterday and after wards my hyperacusis was louder. I went home and could hear all the different banging, clanging and thudding sounds of the machine all night long in my bed. I knew beforehand there was a risk so I took my own ear plugs which were superior

A couple of boxes ticked ✅ after getting Neonatal BM
My little man has had his 8 week check which thankfully he passed on head control and passed his hearing test. Yeay He has his follow up care meeting yesterday and they did a couple of Basic tests they were happy with. Fingers crossed! We are quietly optimistic for the future. We are so proud of him

Long-term tinnitus problem. Any help/advice please
Hello all, this is my first post on here. I have had a form of tinnitus for almost two and a half years now, and the medical professional seems incapable of diagnosing or treating the problem. I have been to several GPs, had an MRI scan (clear) and last month finally got to see a specialist after a ten-month

B12 and Trigeminal Neuralgia
My story follows the usual pattern. Two years, 7 GP’s, 5 consultants, a dozen or more blood tests, 2 ECG’s, 2 chest x-rays, 1 nerve conduction test, 1 hearing test and 1 brain MRI (involving 2 flights to Glasgow paid for by the NHS) only to turn full circle to arrive at a diagnosis of Vitamin B12

Hearing aid experience/recommendations?
I recently went along to a BTA support group for the first time (I highly recommend going!). One of the key learnings from many I spoke to was that a hearing aid can really help, especially when you're having a T spike. I got referred by my GP to our local ENT team and was lucky enough to be seen by

Worrying
Have an MRI tomorrow, initially went to the GP because I thought I had an ear infection. Had Tinnitus in one ear and a feeling of pressure in there too. It was clear but I was referred for a hearing test, which showed a slight loss but not much more than would be expected at my age, I'll be 60 in 5 days

Should I be on anticoagulants?
However, the A&E team who saw me in AF put me straight on
heparin
(I was out of the country so they also gave me enough needles to get me home) and warned that I was at risk without it. Like everyone, I'm worried about blood clots forming and causing a stroke.
