Medical alert bracelet

Hi am confused as to whether I should be wearing a medical alert bracelet. I have lupus and aps, on several medications inc steroids, clopidogrel and azathioprine.

Should I be wearing an alert bracelet?

I may be changing onto heparin soon instead of the clopidogrel.

Thanks, any opinions appreciated!

As ambulance crew-we always look for a bracelet-our only way of knowing medication if you are un-concious. Esp. if you are in an accident and having a bleed.

I bought one that contains the information inside, with spare strips, so if my treatment changes I can amend.

Hi Sara I agree with Holly Heski, you should wear a bracelet . For immediate attention in an accident or whatever a bracelet with all info inside is probably best. That's what I wear and I can change the info when needed.you will get one in the jewellers or on Amazon.all the best Elfie

I wear a medic-alert necklace. It lists my name and that I am on Coumadin and have asthma, anticipating the possibility that I become incapacitated. I also wear a braided survival bracelet in the event I need to create a tourniquet to treat a bleeding limb. The bracelet looks quite manly. ;-)

I used to wear a medical alert pendant but the chain broke, I must get another.

Please get one. Wearing one can save your life if you get into an accident or something happens to you medically. The fire or ambulance people will see what issues you have and what meds you take, which will help your treatment outcome.

And then keep it updated when any changes to issues or meds take place.

Absolutely! If you're unconscious it will "speak" for you. Especially since medicines interact with those you're already on or procedures they may do could be affected by the blood disorder. I wear one daily and have a backup in case it gets lost.

Absolutely. I had a bracelet but then had it changed and added it sort of like a "charm" to my necklace that way it is always on me but not so obvious as I can tuck it under my shirt. If I become unconscious they will be able to find it. If I'm alert, I have it!

I have a stainless necklace { i bracelet wouldn't last with me } The necklace has a USB port that slides out and can be plugged into any computer , Lapp top , anything and it doesn't need a medical program and it is 4 GB USB and you can change anything at anytime-I don't list quantities of meds just the meds and the Dc's that are listed have who prescribes what and emergence numbers etc.I got it from a company out of Texas USA and it came with stainless dog tag and both can be engraved

Road ID are great!! They come in a bracelet with Velcro. I have my name , blood thinner, & my emergency contact info. Plus you can add a charm which I use a medic charm!! Very well priced! I wear Black in the summer & red in the winter!!!!
