10 Years With CLL: Two Trials & Lifesaving CAR T-Cell Therapy
I rarely cross post to Patient Power but today there is a story by a fellow CLL patient I have known for many years as DebinOz. She is one of the few I know of with a more aggressive form of CLL than mine. And I think she has more air miles than my 750,000 with United. Len - See: https://patientpower.info

New to Apixaban
Having been diagnosed with Arrhythmia, I will shortly start taking 5mg Apixaban twice a day. This causes me much concern. Will I be able to lead a normal life, eg play golf, go abroad on holiday etc and will I be able to have a couple of glasses of wine each day? I am currently a regular social drinker

Coping with what could have been
I watched a TV programme today about a guy who needed a
heart
transplant
but was now too poorly to undergo the surgery. What would I have done if this had happened to my husband?! Am I going crazy?

Queen of Hearts
Saw my
heart
today. After being evaluated for a
transplant
they said I had an abnormal ekg. The doctors referred me to a cardiologist and today they did an echo. I saw my heart beating away. That was a strange feeling. I bright side things.

Update
I still hope to get a few days at home before coming back in for more chemotherapy and the actual
transplant
but I can't set my
heart
on it. Unfortunately the hospital food is provided by Serco so healthy food is becoming a distant memory! However the team looking after me is fantastic.

Hello everyone! I’m really scared for my husbands life. He is 45 years old and his primary has just diagnosed him with CKD. He has GFR of 70. Doctor really scared us by telling us that at his age he would properly require Dialysis and a kidney transplant. We have an appointment to see a specialist

Aortic valve replacement
My beautiful boy was born with Aortic stenosis. He’s had to valvuloplasties one when he was 12 and the other when he was 16. The latter left his valve leaking but he’s been ok. Now he’s 34 and we have just heard he has to have the valve replaced with an onyx mechanical valve. This has to be done in the

6 monthly assessment
Quick update regarding a question I had a couple of months ago. I was worried that I would not be able to perform the walk test at my my 6 monthly check up for my lung transplant. I took your advise, gritted my teeth and increased my oxygen. I managed 4 minutes of slow walking, rested and then completed

Covid-19
Has anyone with kidney transplant and Covid shots caught Covid? If so how did you do? This is my fear as I don’t know how my body will react. I am very scared to go out for fear of losing my donated kidney.

Covid -19, still a big risk for some - 2.
I posted this tread up some three months ago just as a warning to others who like me are immunosuppressed. At this time, there are estimated to be around 44% of organ transplanted people who still didn't produce any Covid antibodies. Some of you will remember Jenny who use to frequent this forum, Jenny
