Went up to hospital for angioplasty stent to ensure heart was pumping like a racehorses for eventual double lung transplant.
Bosh… STROKE on the trolly and before i know it left arm and leg weakened but more worrying is LEFT HEMIANOPIA , a 50% loss of vision.
Eyes surgeon and neurologist came to ward and confirmed such so this past few days have been bucket loads of blood thinners, occupational therapy and a headache of all headaches which morphine is trying to extinguish.
Never rains but pours springs to mind!😡
Anyway, moving forward hopefully i will be one of the 55% who improve after such a stroke and Mrs B will jolly well have to be driver and guide dog for the next 6 months.
Hope you are all staying safe!

Wow Mrbo! What a saga but being in that55% is certainly a positive to aim at as you improve. I am sure that if it’s possible you will get there. Be a good passenger while you are being driven around in fact an excellent time to rest those eyes as you are chauffeured around.
Does any of this influence your double lung transplant plans?
My best wishes for the rain to become a gentle shower that washes the trauma away.
So very sorry to hear such news Mrb, how awful for you. Wishing you all the best for a good recovery. Mrsb will be looking after you I’m sure. Love and hugs, Carole xx💜💝💜💝
That's not good MrB, I am so sorry to hear it. I hope you make a speedy recovery and that you don't offer to buy MrsB a chauffeur's cap! Lots of love, Laurie xx
As weired as it sounds you picked the best possible place in the world to have that stroke and I have every confidence you will be amongst that 55%.From experience i know that prompt action at stroke onset both saves lives and prevents long term permanent damage.
What cruel luck Mr B. Thankfully you were in the right place and got immediate attention. wishing a very speedy and full recovery, you certainly have the right attitude xxx😊
Agree with Ski's - you were in best place to get the help you needed for this stroke. I'm sure you will be one of the 55% who improve after such a stroke; your positivity will definitely help. All best wishes going forward.
So sorry to hear this MrB, what a nightmare. I wish you a good recovery from the stroke so you can get back on track with your assessment. It's a horrible thing to have happened but I'm so glad you were in hospital to get the fastest treatment possible 🙏
I realise you’re trying to sound upbeat but probably feel like s**t. It’s a longer road in front now but the odds are in your favour. I think it unlikely that many of the 55% had it happen on a hospital trolley so you’re already ahead with instant treatment. Good luck to you and to your long-suffering wife! Kinky boots indeed!
Oh no MrB what a thing to happen. As Skis said though, if it has to happen, that’s a pretty good place to be. Sending you lots of good wishes 🎩 and to MrsB too. (There’s no emoji of a chauffeur’s cap)
