Removed from Transplant
Sadly I have been removed from the lung transplant list . Harefield say the pulmonary hypertension I have has worsened so much that I wouldn’t survive surgery. I have no idea what will happen next. I’m on 24/7 oxygen, my lungs have approximately 10% capacity and I have no idea what to expect. My respiratory

Re earlier post on different forum.
A thorax CT in September identified coronary artery disease. An angiogram in November verified extent of above as moderate to severe calcification in the LAD vessel. You would have thought drug therapy would have commenced immediately to prevent either a stroke or heart attack but NO, it wasn’t until

Pulmonary Hypertension
I’ve just returned from a pre lung transplant check up at Harefield. Last seen in November when all was ok except pulmonary hypertension was noted. The pressure was 40 mm of mercury. Normal is 25. They weren’t too bothered as walking to the room could have raised it. However today I needed a wheel chair

New on transplant list.
After years of slowly decreasing kidney function, I was recently listed for kidney transplant.

Transplant Assessment over and out (almost)
That underlying issue could be my
heart
as my heart echo was 'not quite what they were expecting' and is something that they want to investigate further to check that there's nothing untoward going on.

Rejected for liver transplant
This morning my partner was advised by the Royal free liver transplant assessment unit that he had been rejected for a liver transplant. This was on the basis of false information. The drug and alcohol nurse had advised that he was unwilling to allow RF to access his data from the drug and alcohol support

Pains post heart attack
Three weeks after major heart attack and three stents fitted, I’m still getting the odd pain in my heart region. Sometimes I get a little pain in my heart while taking a deep breath. Sometimes it’s just a single pain and it goes and sometimes four or five pains each time I breathe. It was more so in

My husband has a bad rash
Hi everyone I haven't posted for a while but always read others. My husband (64) had NASH cirrhosis and had a liver transplant in 2017, when they also found he had cancer of the liver. His new liver now has fatty deposits as his Diabetes seems out of control. He is trying a new diet and hopefully

Night sweats
My elective heart surgery went horribly wrong. First a stroke and then a junior doctor in the stroke unit wrongly deciding that I was allergic to blood thinners and putting me on a drip of Vitamin K. Not a good move after a mechanical valve transplant with blood clots a real possibility. After two months

Massive setback…😡😢😡😢😡😢
Just got word from the transplant team that they now consider me too high a risk for a double lung transplant. As some of you may remember the assessment work up flagged up a calcification build up in a heart vessel ( LAD) which needed sorting. I subsequently went to the Harefield for angioplasty and
