I have my AFib under control after being prescribed my meds by my heart consultant. I take Flecainide, Apixaban, & Propranolol which controls my a fib. However, I have just realised that my Gp has halved my propranolol dose without consultation! ( from 80 mg to 40 mg) I am due to have a medical review

Covid Tests for Vulnerable People
Dear All, I am repeating on this Forum, a 'Post' I put on the Kidney Transplant forum, regarding Covid Test Availability. Essentially these Test ARE 'Still Available' to Vulnerable People. Solid Organ Transplant recipients, like myself, automatically 'qualify'- as might many 'others' on here. You can

Open heart surgery
I’m slightly anxious about my upcoming surgery for a mitral valve replacement and repair of atrium valve plus bypass on 16 January. I suffer from COPD. My worries are not actually about the heart side of the op, I have an amazing Clinical Lead who is extremely capable of this op. Amazing and clever

Covid Self Tests, For Vulnerable Folk.
Dear all, The 'Availability' of Free Covid Tests is now 'Limited To Certain Groups', however Sold Organ Transplant Patients ARE Included. If you do want to 'Order' some, then go to 'gov.uk', rather than 119- or the Normal Covid Site. I found this out after 'Chasing My Tail', for about forty minutes.

I am new here, struggling with feeling lonely and feeling stuck
does anyone else since becoming sick find it extremely isolating? I was 20 ish when I first started to become unwell and my tachycardia just got worse and worse as the years went by. I collapsed multiple times, one time I even split my head open after smacking off of a sink which was not a fun experience

Open Heart Surgery in my Future - urrrgghh
Hi lovely hearties, hope you're all having a good betwixtmass and have managed to catch up with loved ones and indulge in small pleasures. I had my meeting with the ACHD consultant yesterday and he showed me the Echo of my heart. Yes, I have a hole in my atrial septum. And it's big; 20-30mm, he reckons

Haemochromatosis and my liver
Male, now 50. My story starts five years ago when I was renovating my house and tripped down a broken staircase and knocked myself unconscious. I went to A&E and after getting a head scan my GP had me get some blood tests for any nasty tell tale signs to do with concussion and bleed on the brain. Thankfully

Monster Returns
Without provocation (no triggers), I startled awake in Afib which turned into tachycardia and has continued for 48 hours now. So after a respite of nine months from my FOURTH ablation [& coming off flecainide (due to left bundle block), but still on metoprolol ER, amlodipine, and Xarelto], I’m beginning

struggling with neck pain :( help pls!
I first was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in 2020 when I started having aches and pains in neck shoulders feeling tired all the time, funny heads as I used to call them, memory issues, stressed all the time and really deflated about everything. I could never relax and always overthink everything.

Suddenly felt heart going funny and thought I was about to go into Afib. Checked with kardia after a few minutes and it said tachycardia. Over the last 2 hours I’ve fluctuated between brief Afib attacks (about 4 times), all in the mid 80 hr for only a few minutes with tachycardia 112-120 the rest of

Night sweats
Since having open heart surgery nearly three years ago, my husband has night sweats. They happen regularly but not all the time, if that makes sense. I can usually tell the nights he is going to have them because he either feels incredibly cold on the day/evening before or more tired than normal.
