Has anyone had cardiac catheterization or heart surgery with GCA or PMR?
Hi everyone, in my last post I told you I was about to have an echocardiogram where they put a camera down your throat to get better pictures of the heart. That went fine except for very sore throat for about a week. Unfortunately they found multiple problems, all of which have appeared in the last year

Second Successful Ablation with Dr. Natale
I am now one week past my second ablation with Dr. Natale in Austin, Texas. The biggest miracle of all was that when I went off of Flecainide five days before surgery, nothing happened and I stayed in sinus rhythm. My first ablation was nearly five years ago, and I tried unsuccessfully to go off of Flecainide

"Probable Myocardial infarction of indeterminate age".
I've had afib for about a year and a half and it's reasonably well controlled, it seems, by bisoprolol and aPixaban. Consultant advised to leave it alone and will probably need a pacemaker in the future. He did an ECG on me yesterday and the words at the top of the print out were what I have shown at

Gabapentin
Hi everyone. Does anyone have experience with gabapentin for anxiety and depression? Some background. My Father passed away in March 2022, which left me devastated. I was then diagnosed with a heart condition requiring a stent. Since then I have really been struggling. I used to be very fit and active

PVCs, PAF and ablation
Hello everybody, I would be very grateful for advice. My problem is that after covid booster Moderna (September) I started feeling lots of ectopics (never had before). Tried deep breathing, flecainide 50 twice a day, metoprolol 25 mg but nothing helped. My cardiologist sent me to numerous tests:

weak left radial pulse after ablation
Hello everyone my latest concern after my ablation 3 weeks ago is I have noticed my usually strong pulse on my left wrist is now very faint, with the one on my right wrist stronger than pre ablation. I saw my GP today who said he agreed but had not come across this before and mentioned something about

Question for anyone who has had Open heart surgery
A month ago I had OHS and went straight into Afib. I have had a pacemaker inserted 2 years ago. I had a cardioversion yesterday and I feel like I’ve gone back to week one with the pain on my right boob. I want to know from anyone who’s had this surgery if their breasts were soooo sore. I do have

Off the AF meds, scared!
Has anybody got a similar experience of coming off the meds so soon, it just seems early days I spoke to my Cardiologist last week, after an ablation in September I was tachycardic and a cardio version was required in December. Sinus rhythm restored and February 7th he took me off both the beta blockers

Sternum discomfort week 11 after bypass.
Hi guys, I'm now at week 11 after double heart bypass surgery. Surgery went well, but very bad wound infection and had to be rehospitalized. After all the infection hoo ha, I'm doing well and generally feeling good. My chest area currently feels really tight, and whilst it doesn't hurt to breathe in

diet drinks etc
me and my family n friends read in the news today about the sugar fee and diet drinks and aspartame sweetener being soo dangerous and cancer risk. some agreed it is a big issue whilst others say it’s always been known but only just been in the news / certified today. and some of them say they’ll stop

IVIG after heart surgery and stopping IBRUTIMIB
12 months ago I was on an Ibrutinib clinical trial for my CLL. Ibrutinib worked great for me for years. I found out I needed a triple bypass due to 95% LAD artery blockage. Not good! A stent wasn’t an option in my case due to necessity for blood thinners. Can’t do blood thinners, aspirin and Irbutinib

Replying to enquirer "fifteen".
You sent me a message asking for a paper on hypothyroidism and left ventricular failure. I've found this that might be of use: Br Heart J. 1982 Sep; 48(3): 278–284. doi: 10.1136/hrt.48.3.278 PMCID: : 7104121 Left ventricular function in hypothyroidism. Responses to exercise and beta adrenoceptor

Dry Eye Syndrome
Quick question. I was at opthalmology today re another matter and whilst there he diagnosed Dry Eye Syndrome. He said it was most likely another autoimmune condition I had. He said it would be a lifelong condition with drops a cream for my eyes. Has anyone else with alopecia been diagnosed with this.

I took 2 weeks of active pills then stopped now withdrawal bleeding has started…
Hey guys, So like the title says, I took 2 weeks of microgynon 30 then stopped because I was worried about my
health
after getting
heart
palpitations which I thought could be related. Because i was supposed to take my last week of active pills on Tuesday but didn’t I’ve started to bleed.
