Off the AF meds, scared!

Has anybody got a similar experience of coming off the meds so soon, it just seems early days

I spoke to my Cardiologist last week, after an ablation in September I was tachycardic and a cardio version was required in December. Sinus rhythm restored and February 7th he took me off both the beta blockers and anticoagulants. I can’t help worrying about it but he is the expert. I can’t help feeling that once you’ve had AF you’re never going to live without noticing every heartbeat.

My EP has kept me on my medication despite having numerous ablations.

It surprises me if your EP wants to stop yours given you still have symptoms.

Hi Moremy. It's understandable to feel worried about coming off your meds, but ultimately your cardiologist is the expert here. Trust in your cardio's expertise and continue to monitor your heart as recommended by him.

Stop panicking! Repeat after me - my cardio has my interests at heart (pun in there somewhere) and knows what's best for me. I will stop panicking right now.

Paul

PS - if you don't I'll give you 100 lines saying the above. I'll expect you to write them down and put a screenshot of them on the thread.
