Arrhythmia anxieties pre-cardioversion
Hi everyone, just looking for others' experiences and reassurance. Since having open heart surgery 12 weeks ago to correct a hole in my heart (diagnosed out of the blue at Christmas), I have been in arrhythmia for about 6 weeks. I had 48 hours on a holter monitor and this showed atrial flutter. I was

blood tests and bad cholesterol results.
I recently had my bloods done by the lovely staff at my surgery but received a call a week later saying my total cholesterol was 4.4 so I thought that’s not bad ? But the lady said it’s not that good because my bad fats were 3.2 and they like it at 3 or under or I’m at risk of stroke or heart attack

In reply to Amanda with a father who refused a triple heart bypass and has type 2 diabetes. I had a triple heart bypass in 2017 3 months after my wife died.. I do wonder if my wife dying of a brain tumour brought it on. It was not good as 12 months later I had sternal dehiscence and a epigastric hernia

European Masters Championships 2023 Pescara, Italy 21/09-01/10, Intro and 100 metres
I’ve decided to split my report into sections as it covers three events and quite a few races. It’s also getting unimaginably long 😬 and I don’t like to keep folk waiting. This is the first instalment which sets the scene and covers the 100 metre event. Make yourself a nice cuppa tea and maybe even

Heart Attack
My Dad had a heart attack back in April. He refused a triple heart bypass and was sent home with medication. He has had no follow up about his heart but is struggling to manage. He is slow, shaky, weak and unstable. He is breathy after minor exertion, generally has cold hands and feet and is a little

Atrial Tachycardia after Ablation
1 week following my PVI ablation, what my EP described as 'typical atrial tachcardia' ocurred, which has now (4 weeks later) become permanent. My HR is between 120 - 130 and will not shift. He says this will need treating with a more straightforward ablation. But I believe this is unlikely until 3 months

Mild aortic stenosis...is this normal?
A heart mumur was picked up when I was at the a&e back in June. Had an echocardiogram done September. Finally after trying to chase the a&e cardiologist who checked the echocardiogram he said my results were all normal. AF and Heart Parameters
I experienced AF first in 2012. It was recorded in Holter Monitoring. On medication since then. Holter Monitoring done once in a year. No episode recorded. Actually my episodes occur suddenly last for few seconds. ECG sometimes show tachycardia, Echocardiography is normal, TMT recent time is negative

2 months post ablation and frequent extrasystoles.
So I'm 2 months from my 1st ablation and supposed to now stop taking Flecainide but I seem to be permanently having extrasystoles, having hardly had them at all previously. They are fairly asymptomatic with me only sometimes feeling palpitations. I've also had a couple of Afib episodes but it's the sudden

Blood thinner options...
Diagnosed earlier this year. Working my way through due to uncomfortable physical side effects.... (Done edoxaban, rivaroxaban) on 5mg 2 x daily now. Does it follow that Apixaban if twice daily , is a lower dose therefore, more gentle on your stomach and your system? Wondering if there is ever truly

Heart bypass surgery
I had a heart attack almost 10 years ago and last week suffered another minor attack. I am currently in hospital as I had an angiogram but due to the extent of my heart disease I have been recommended for bypass surgery (subject to satisfactory scans etc). I have never had serious surgery like this before

Sinus rhythm with supraventricular ectopy.
Last December my Kardia mobile saw AFIB when I was sitting on a plane coming back from Egypt. It is not the first time, in fact there have been dozens of times when I have seen it. I went to the GP and he sent the kardia output to the cardiologist. Several cardiologists disagreed about the kardia
