No matter how long or how deeply you have suffered, you can recover.
When our nervous system can take no more it becomes over-sensitised producing symptoms such as panic attacks,

Anxious About School
I'm in my first semester of community college and I'm trying to finish strong. I know I'll be able to. I just don't know if I'll be able to go back next semester. Ever since I started going to college, my mental health has taken a series decline. Now, I'm eating my feelings; having obsessive, anxious

Cold water!
I went swimming for the first time yesterday since my diagnosis of PAF 18 months ago. I'm on holiday in France at the moment. It was an outdoor pool and it's hot here so the water felt really cold. I went in waist deep and then ducked under. I swam for a few metres then realised I was in AF. I guess

Ablation next Wednesday
Hi, Apologies, I’m dreadful at remembering terminology .. I’ve had racing and irregular heart beat intermittently for a decade of more. I have a resting heart rate of 50 and low blood pressure. My afib tends to be aggressive and I usually end up in hospital. ( rate of 240 not unusual) Last time had

Tachycardia
Hi. After six months clear of af it suddenly came back last month. It seems to bother me every day since. I’m on Bisoprolol 10 and flecainide 50.x 2. Also became tachycardic. Spoke to gp who agreed I could increase flecainide to 2 x 100. Made me very breathless so reduced it again. I’m mostly tachycardic

Hair Loss on Warfarin
Hi all, I don’t post very often. I’ve been taking warfarin since February 2021 after having two mechanical valves fitted. I know that I will need to see my doctor about this, but I am losing my hair, and it’s noticeable now, especially at the front. Does anyone else have this? What can be done to

A question please
I had had bouts of Afib ranging on average of 12-18 hours a time for many years. I then had one of 55 hours 5 years ago. Then it was back to the usual pattern. Suddenly I’m into another long one? I have always self converted and never been to hospital, except twice in 18 years and that was with chest

Are people with recent mechanical valve and aorta replacement, considered vulnerable during heat waves?
Currently in Europe where there is an ongoing heatwave. Surgery just under 3 months ago. I can't see mechanical valve on the list for vulnerable groups during heatwaves. Just checking to see if I am correct in assuming that I should be as careful and sensible as every other person who has not had major

I have

CHAD VASc
Last year on a visit to my EP he informed me that at the age of 64 and with a CHAD VASc score of 1 that anti coagulants were not necessary. However as I turn 65 then my score would go to 0 which then does require Anti-c . I am taking Flecainide, bisoprolol along with Magnesium and I am in good health

Statins
I have had RLS for close to 20 years and it has progressively got worse. I am on Pexola 1mg at night. I had heart surgery six years ago and am on 5mg of Zuvamor as a precautionary measure. Should I rather take my heart medication in the morning as I am now reading that it can affect the RLS?
