This is a long list of my husbands ailments with only one question at the end.He has coronary artery stents ( 2005), Permanent AF since 2012, Peripheral arterial disease. Sleep apnoea uses CPAP machine. Strange absence event in Feb (cardiologist says not heart related as he remained standing til I persuaded him to sit on chair though pulse around 40.) Awaiting neurology appt about this, first available end September. Controlled hypertension and mild cognitive impairment though no one seems concerned except me .
I assumed TAVI but cardiologist now wants angiogram before referral to Leeds to check condition of stents which might mean more invasive approach!!
Right, just one question, has anyone experience of heart surgery with sleep apnoea??

Every week cardiac surgeions deal with patietns with oyher helth issues such as COPD , diabetes, PAD, astma and sleep apnea. The surgical outcome is generally excellent. However, if you look at Dr Google t looks bad as they cite things like 2, 5 and 10-year outcomes forgetting that if you have an underlying health issue you are at greater risk anyway.
The surgeomns deal with hundreds of patients each every year. If they are happy go with their decision. And remember a proportion of minimally invasive procedures go pear shaped necessitating OHS.
Thanks for that. Re outcomes, husband was looking concerned re TAVI outcomes and I said what do you think outcomes would be like without it. I have great faith in consultant's judgement especially as he will be referred to LGI.Thanks again.
