Blood test results
I have been on statins a couple of years after routine cholesterol test found high levels of bad
cholesterol
- can't remember if that's
HDL
or LDL. I'm not on ant thyroid medication. I'm now not sure how to proceed. With low TSH and low F4 I don't think GP will prescribe thyroxine.

don't want to go back to the lipid clinic but where else can I get an FH test?
After today's experience, I really don't want to go back to the lipid clinic again. I only went because I wanted the FH test but as usual I felt completely steamrollered by the consultant, that he wasn't listening to anything I said, and I will have to wait 4 months for the results anyway. Apolipoprotein a - yet another thing to worry about.
Ok so I just went to see my 3rd lipid consultant. He was slightly better than the other two in that he thinks, on the balance of probabilities, I've probably got polygenic hypercholesterolemia, not FH. He also accepted there were other risk factors. However since I have a family history of stroke - though

LWMDR results --- After Lab Test
The blood test was taken on 7th March 2015 and the FBS and PPBS were shooting up to 190 and 230 respectively in April 2015. By end of April 2015, I decided to try out LWMDR , with the idea of bringing the sugar values under control, "to start with". I started LWMDR on 28th April 2015. Inbetween, twice

Hi all, I have ended up on this forum out of despair like many others here, its a long story but after reading I would appreciate some advice, as I am at a loss as to what to do or where to go from here. Here goes: 2 years ago I started to feel unwell, had severe pain in my feet, accompanied by burning

Statins
Hi My husband has A/F, he has no symptoms, it was detected by chance, when going for a pre op for a small operation, he’s 72, he’s on warfarin, bisoprolol, ramipril & a statin. With all the bad press about statins, we were wondering if you guys out there with A/F, take statins. His cholesterol level

Cholesterol con and more
Hi there, just back after a few weeks of reading the Cholesterol Con book; although I really enjoyed reading the book and I feel that he has a lot of common sense and relative truths in his favor, however I'm still anxious about not doing anything to lower the LDL levels. So having seen a heart specialist

At the age of 17 (now 31) I was diagnosed with Familial Hypercholesterolemia and had genetic testing to prove this. Cholesterol levels were 11.7 mmol. Started simvastatin at 20mg, cholesterol did not lower. Increased to 40mg and slight alteration but severe muscle pains. So bad i couldnt get out of bed
