I was on lipitor for about six months I stopped taking them but still have pins and needles in hands. Has anyone else had that and how long did it last after you stopped taking lipitor

Lipitor side effect?
I had pins and needles when I first started taking Lipitor (1999) found occasional use of Co-Enzyme Q10 seemed to stop this side effect, I am still taking Attorvastatin 16 years later and rarely need Q10 .
Although you say you 'rarely need CoQ10' you should still take it daily. Statins block the pathway that creates it and it's a vital enzyme for our body, especially our hearts. Personally I think it's criminal that Dr's don't explain this when prescribing statins
What I find more criminal is NICE don't allow its prescription, (probably due to cost) and recommend more statins for more groups of people, therefore you are at the mercy of the vendor for what is the correct daily dose. I believe it does occur naturally in organ meat, some fish and some vegetables, but again the dietary advice from the NHS is not based on the need for certain supplements. Recent research seems to indicate that it may not be based on a sound scientific foundation.
Have been on Lipitor 20mg for two years following a stent so far no problems if the problem persists you could ask your Dr to change your statins or possibly lower your dose.
It's been about 12 days now but starting to think it lasted longer due to a little anxiety. Thanks Traci
