Folate
I am confused about how much folate to supplement with when taking B12 injections. These were my labs were done a year ago (when B12 deficiency was discovered): B12: 240 (range 239-931) Folate: 8.4 (range 7-31) After only 4 injections my folate dipped to 5.2. My neurologist had me start 400 mcg or folate

Magnesium supplement advice please
I've been taking magnesium glycinate supplements, no sure if they helped but heho, I've ran out so I need to reorder. I don't want the same brand as they were huge! I've searched on here and it looks like taurate might suit me better as I struggle with ectopic heartbeats a lot. Can any of you recommend

Testing for PA
Has anyone had all the bloodwork (IFA, parietal cell, MMA, homocysteine) and endoscopy & colonoscopy (including biopsies) that all came back fine yet still have B12 deficiency or PA? Is it possible to still have PA without having any definitive test results. Endoscopy and colonoscopy did not turn up

New to this forum!
Hi. I was diagnosed with PA about 6 years ago. I had my B12 shots at my surgery but after my initial boosters, they only gave me 1 a month (if that). So when Covid rocked up, I bought everything myself and have been self injecting for the last few years with my GP’s approval. I’m just about to run out

H Pylori and B12 deficiency
I am aware that untreated H Pylori can cause a vitamin B12 deficiency, but was wondering by how much? (I.e. could this be the *sole* cause of my B12 deficiency?) Maybe difficult to quantify I know, but was thinking whether I might in the future (after eliminating my recently diagnosed H Pylori) be able

How often should varices be checked?
My husband had three separate episodes of variceal bleeds in the fall of 2020. Esophageal and gastric varices which were either banded or glued. Sent home and no follow up, nothing. Now 18 months later he was back in hospital with another gastric bleed. It took four endoscopies to finally locate and

Low TIBC and low ferritin
Hi folks! I'm working on improving My ferritin levels (8, then 14, then 20). I've been taking iron supplements for the last 4 months but it seems i'm improving REALLY slowly. I'm worried, though, because my TIBC has always been low (240 on a 245-450 range). Does that mean I should take lactoferrin together
