How quickly does b12 change?
This was because my red blood cells were small, although both
haemoglobin
and ferritin were within normal. The improvement in my health was quite amazing. Although I am much better than I was I am still fatigued, experiencing muscle and joint pain, brain fog, pins and needles etc.

Many thanks
Incidentally if anyone can shed any light on the results I am given in my bloods for high mean
haemoglobin
I would be very interested if it's due to thyroid or something that has been overlooked by the gp as no mention was made to me about this at GPs appt and first I knew of this was when I did as you

Vitamin pills
The Hydroxycarbamide made my
haemoglobin
drop so I am taking the iron. Some of these have made me feel a lot better already. Also healthy eating of course, very little sugar and caffeine, no dairy products. Good quality foods, organic. Lots of fruit and veg, some meat.

High reverse T3, low T3 ratio
Blood tests showed
haemoglobin
at bottom end of normal, ferratin at bottom end of normal and small red blood cells so I was prescribed Iron. The resulting improvement was utterly unexpected but very welcome!!

Bone marrow still not producing red cells
I still need blood transfusions to maintain
haemoglobin
levels. I have had these for seven months now and I have iron overload. Has anyone had experience of Exjade/iron chelation? I'm going to have another bone marrow biopsy to discover why erythrocytes are not being produced.

SCD treatments.
They also try to keep you well hydrated with bags of saline and also increase your
haemoglobin
numbers by blood transfusions. My GP found a good Haemotology Department in St George's Tooting, that actually have a dedicated team lead by the consultant, Dr Rhodes.
