I shall add SeasideSusie into your post as she's so good at interpreting blood tests.
Your locum doctor has to be applauded that she accepted Medichecks results as many doctors don't like private tests but we are forced to do so if we want to get a chance of being well.
I agree Shaws my own Doctor would not even take the time to check ,the Locum was very good my doctor only wanted the b12 and Folate rechecked out ,and it was certainly my lucky day the nurse who did the blood tests for me also has hashimotos , so Wednesday was a good day after feeling so down and confused , the reason I paid for Medicheck was my Doctor would not do a B12 or any other vitimin checks for me .
lizlee It's good that the locum has ordered those tests
Folate Intrinsic factor and parietal cell antibodies
This follows on your poor folate and B12 and is looking to see if you have Pernicious Anaemia I believe.
FBC Iron studies
I'm not good with these unless they suggest iron deficiciency anaemia which they don't as far as I know, so she may be looking for something else.
CRP
I imagine she wants to see if this has reduced from your previous high result.
Vitimin D 82nmol/L
Unlikely to be prescribed anything for this. The Vit D Council recommend a level of 100-150nmol'L so you might want to buy your own supplement. Come back and tell us what she says, we can suggest a D3 supplement along with it's cofactors.
TFTS
This will be repeating your thyroid function tests. Be aware that rT3 wont be included, the NHS doesn't do it, and I believe they know nothing about rT3.
Platlet count 340x10*9/L 1.8-8x10*9/L
Neutrophil count 10.1x10*9/L* 1.8 - 8x10/9L
Nuculated red blood count 0.01x10*9/L 0-.1x10*9/L
Lymphaocyte count 4.1x10/9L 0 - 4.4x10*9/L
Monocyte count 1x10*9/L* 1.8 - 8x10*/9L
Eosinophil count 0.1x10*9/L .5x10*9/L
Basophil Count 0x10*9/L 0-.3x10*9/L
I can't interpret those I'm afraid, but your Platelet Count result doesn't look right at 340 when the range is 1.8-8. Neutrophil Count shows over range and you've put the same range as Platelet Count, is one of them wrong? Monocyte Count and Eosinophil Count are both below range. You should ask your GP about all of these if no-one else comes along with an interpretation. Or you could look up on labtestsonline.org.uk/under...
So the Platelet Count is within range, but your Neutrophil Count is over range and you should discuss with your GP along with the other out of range results.
Thank you Seaside Susie ,I will try and get an appointment next week ,i thought they may have rang me because they must have read the results if I have them on my computer.
