First of all I want to thank you all for the messages of support i received before my operation on the 19th of February. The good news is that my triple bypass was a success ! I spent a total of 10 days in hospital, I had a few ups and downs, but overall I have had a positive experience, albeit sometimes

Melanoma Surgery while taking Actemra and Prednisone
Hello, I have GCA/PMR and currently on 2.5mg prednisone and Actemra every other week. I just found out I have to have a melanoma surgery, and a surgery called “lymph node biopsy” where they remove some lymph nodes to determine if cancer has spread. My question is: should I increase/decrease prednisone

ongoing health issues
As many of you know, I had foot surgery 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the wound isn’t healing well, so I’m now 6 weeks off my MTX and benepali. On Sunday at 1am I went to the loo before settling for the night. I had a large rectal bleed, with maroon stools and a gush of blood. Hubby was asleep, so I checked

Advice request - going in circles with doctors
Hi all, I've been suffering with endometriosis for years but I'm really struggling to get proper help with it, and the doctors seem to be thinking now it might be something else. I've had surgery to remove endometriosis twice (and the second time I also had an ovarian cyst removed which was larger than

Finally got my Neurosurgeon appointment!
Hi all, Well after waiting almost a year, I saw the neurosurgeons at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire. The consultant offered me some bleak options, have cervical spine surgery or my symptoms will get worse and I won’t be able to get back to how I am now! I have cervical myelopathy and spinal stenosis,

Recent diagnosis - What was your radiation experience?
Hello, I was just diagnosed with stage 1, non-small cell. I'm debating between the open surgery (the nodule is not in an easy location) or targeting radiation. I'm scared of recovery from the surgery, but I'm also scared of potential long-term side effects from radiation. I'd appreciate hearing your

tricuspid and mitral
I had my TOE yesterday and it was painless although a little uncomfortable but I did have sedation and was pleased that I had. The nurses and doctors were very sweet and informative without being alarmist. It turns out that I have two moderately severe leaky valves, mitral and tricuspid, both parachute

I posted previously on this long and tortuous journey to ( almost) a diagnosis. Worsening Stress Incontinence 20 Months After Surgery?
I had my Robotic Prostatectomy 20 months ago at age 54 and everything went really well. Good post surgery pathology (no positive margins or extracapular extension). I didn't need pads about 5 months after surgery. I of course experienced stress incontinence after but at 1 year it was virtually non-existent

Had appt with urologist, although already stated no surgery
Had appt and the urologist seemed to he trying to persuade me to have prostatectomy although I was clear at diagnosis no surgery primarily due to incontinence issues. He said permanent incontinence occurred in less than 5% of cases, I disagreed and said 10/15% is nearer the mark am I correct?

Crisis!
I've just spent 50 minutes waiting on the phone to speak to a real human being at my doctor's surgery to try and make an appointment to speak to the respiratory nurse, to book a blood test for suspected diabetes and to get my heart checked out. After 50 minutes and being told I was in position number
