Prostate Cancer Diet and Re-purposed Meds

I was just reading a post about Jane Mcclelland's protocol regarding her book, "How to starve cancer." She also added a second portion on a book re-released, with a Ferroptosis (death by iron) protocol. I thought the criticism to be amazing. Cancer is a baffling mystery, top scientist and great minds still haven't solved. Western standard of care has failed primarily, given rise to individuals researching the scientific literature themselves. She has done just that. On my on journey with prostate cancer over the last year, I am doing the same. There is a vast amount of resources to examine, which require hundreds of hours, and a general knowledge of this field.

I have stumbled upon many resources, Md's, Integrative Oncologist, ect... that spend massive amounts of time, dissecting medical literature, to progress in this subject.

integrative oncologist and functional doctors, see the wisdom in combating cancer with means that are frowned upon by traditional oncologist. Traditional oncologist believe it is "playing with a loaded handgun" and surgery, radiation, chemo, ect...are what the know, and recommend, despite the poor results and devastating consequences and side effects. Knowing people personally who have healed and remained healed, from "alternative" protocols, I have an open mind, while balancing it with the understanding that standard of care, especially newer strategies and methods, have their place. (i.e for me, potentially Proton pencil beam, MRI guided radiation, specifically targeting tumors, reducing possible consequences by causing minimal damage to tissue surrounding.

As mentioned before, Ferroptosis, is new to the game, about 13 years old. Death of cancer, by using the iron in the cancer to kill cancer stem cells. Plenty of research out there. Google it.

That's my focus.

What is not known to most, is it's not just the "cancer" to be concerned about, but cancer "stem cells." The roots of cancer. The reason why radiation can kill cancer, (as well as other collateral damage to the body), regresses, then returns (at times). This understanding is a huge advantage to get a handle on.

The theory is, weakening cancer growth and metastasis thru diet, specific nutraceuticals and re-purposed medications (Starving), then using another protocol of the same just listed, to promote ferroptosis, death by iron, starving the amino acid cysteine, and utilizing oxygen (Kill). A vast, complicated subject, but worth investigating. There are hundreds of brillant, highly credentialed physicians globally, moving new approaches to a very complex arena.

Im interested in others perspectives, resources ideas and opinions.

One of the things an informed patient has got to understand before plunging into unproven hypotheses is what constitutes good evidence. Whack-jobs like Jane McClellend confuse testable hypotheses with scientific medicine. In the last 300 years there has been a great deal of progress in sorting out what constitutes reliable evidence. Patients ignore it at their peril.

If you want to understand more about this subject, read this:
