Type 1 or 2???
Hi everyone. My sister was recently diagnosed with diabetes. She was put on Metformin. For the past couple of weeks, she has been having horrible nausea and not feeling very hungry. Today she went to see the nurse at her surgery and was told she could be type 1 and not type 2 as originally told.

Ovulating?
Hi all I have pcos and been on metformin to try and conceive. This week I had an internal scan around the time they expected ovulation. There was no evidence of ovulation but they could only see one of my ovaries. I now have to have a blood test a week before my period for progesterone levels. Will

The best blood glucose oral remedy, Metformin, at best brings down level by just 31!

PCOS or eptopic pregnancy? ☹️
I’ve had PCOS for 5 years, been ttc for 4 years and been on Metformin for the past 4 months. My periods have been regular but I have just had a really heavy bleed, a week early. I’m worried that it might be an eptopic pregnancy and don’t know what to do? Could just be PCOS and I’m being dramatic. It

Maybe endometriosis? Prostap recommended.
Hello everyone :) I just joined this group and I am hoping to get some advice, whether medical or experiences people have had, etc. A lot of background, but may help: 10+ years ago, at an estimate, diagnosed with PCOS. When puberty started and I began to get PCOS symptoms it was ultimately dismissed

Sick of gynaecologists making me feel dumb! Metformin debate again!!!
Hi! So I had a follow up app today to discuss after my Hycosy test in December. However, he was very rude and made me feel so small! Last time I saw him he prescribed metformin and then (notherestone) to bring on a period to book hycosy test. I got the meds but after having blood work come back fine

should I go back to the doctors or should I suffer?!
back in November when I first joined HealthUnlocked I was diagnosed with diabetes. now that I have seen the consultant I'm still confused as to what type I have got and have been told to continue what I'm doing even though I explained how the tablets side affects are affecting me. I now have to wait

Metformin
Has anyone been prescribed Metformin to treat advanced prostate cancer? I just met with a new Oncologist and they were surprised that my last Oncologist did not recommend it. It’s typically used by folks with diabetes but has been shown to slow prostate cancer growth.

Depletions of Vitamins and Minerals by Medication
Can anyone point me in the right direction of depletion of Vitamins and minerals by medication. I think there was some government guidance on giving B12 and Vitamins D3, but don't know where to look. My special needs son is low in a few vitamins and I have been supplementing, but this would be better

Good results with LCHF
Some 3 months ago, when I had a debilitating viral fever, my health check up showed pre-diabetes. Doc asked me to start metformin, but in addition I continued with LCHF diet , though not strictly. Then I went for another check-up 2 days ago and the lab tests showed the following results (Sept. figures

Thank you all for your advice re the above. This pain started with a bowl of homemade vegetable soup made in my wonderful soup maker. This had more leeks than usual and gave my OH indigestion as well. Since then it has lingered getting worse as the day progresses. In the morning I have healthy yoghurt

Heartburn
As the eating season is nearly with us again, I'd like to know if other prednisolone and Metformin takers experience heartburn. I am down to 7mg pred and just one Metformin a day but the heartburn has been with me for one week now. My GP says stop taking the Metformin but the hospital doctor says no.
