I diagnosed T2 Diabetes in Sep 17 with my HbA1c as 11.8% (ABG 292 mg/dl) . FBS as 234 and PPBS as 283. Doctor prescribed me Glucomet GP2 (glimepiride 2mg + metformin 500) before breakfast and dinner and Roseday 10 for CHOLESTEROL after dinner. For vitamin D deficiency I am taking 60000 IU Vitamin D tablet once in a week. Every 20 days I tested my FBS and PPBS levels, levels are getting gradually decreased. Based on the lab report doctor reduced the medications. My last FBS and PPBS was done in 30th November 2017 and it was 78 and 91 mg/dl. Currently I am taking Glucomet 500 (metformin 500). Yesterday(12th Dec 17) again I tested HbA1c and it was 6.0% with Average Blood Glucose value as 125.5 mg/dl.

Middle of October I did the Lipid Profile test all parameters are well in the range except HDL (34 mg/dl). Still doctor prescribed me Roseday 10 for next 2 month.

My Age 38, Height 182 cms, and my weight is 79 Kg. I reduced almost 8 to 10 Kg during this period (from sep 17).

Could you please review the above and provide your valuable suggestion and advice?

You have achieved something that most diabetics dream of.Keep it up.Keep monitoring at home and go for periodical check ups.Do not let diabetes to creep back,because it is a progressive disorder i.e it gets more severe as age increases.

Hi Guravaiah, i am not following any diet currently, i just simply cutting/reduced the raw sugars such as sweets, sugary products, packed foods(biscuits etc.,) and junk foods. i just concentrate on my weight loss so i tried low calorie food and exercise(just walking avg. 5 km day). I am basically south Indian (Tamil Nadu). also i reduce rice intake by 50%.

Sir I'm from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

In South India rice is the main item for tiffin , lunch and dinner . So that I don't know lchf food receips. I'm taking idli/ Dosa in tiffin and lunch as ragi ball or rice and night 3 chapatis . So that my sugar levels are not controlled . I'm decided to lchf food . In this forum no one gives the details of lchf diet. So I'm requesting to lchf diet what you had followed. My sugar levels are FBS 180 and rbps 240 .

Your body mass index (BMI) is 23.8 and it is normal.

Glimepiride is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally. Side effect: Frequent hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).

Metformin is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Certain changes in diet and exercise may have a positive impact on raising HDL levels:--

* Decreased intake of simple carbohydrates.

* Aerobic exercise

* Weight loss

* Magnesium supplements raise HDL-C.

* Addition of soluble fiber to diet

* Consumption of omega-3 fatty acids such as fish oil or flax oil

* Consumption of pistachio nuts.

* Increased intake of cis-unsaturated fats

* Consumption of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) such as caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, and lauric acid.

* Removal of trans fatty acids from the diet.

You should take more attention to diabetic diet and aerobic exercise.
