Severe fatty liver at 28?
Hi made a post earlier in the week about high ALT. It was 253, then 289 on next blood test and doctor was concerned and booked me for ultrasound. My other liver function results were normal, only ALT was high. Had an ultrasound and the doctor contacted me today and confirmed to me that I have a "severe

Altruistic donor starting my journey
I’m a 58 year old man. I’ve worked as a surgeon most of my adult life. I’m interested in donating one of my kidneys and the small lobe of my liver. I’d like to find someone deserving (any child) who may benefit from this. I’m not a transplant surgeon so I’m a bit new to this. My understanding is

Finely Irregular liver Margin
Good day to everyone, I had a transplant performed in late 2019. Apart from a persistent lower right abdominal pain things have been good. I recently had an ultrasonic and they reported a ' finely irregular margin' with a small amount of fluid around the liver '. I have searched to find what that means

1st Anniversary of my Transplant
One year ago today I was given a very special gift by a kind family who made it possible for me to remain with my family and to be able to write this today. Baby steps are now adult steps, Bilirubin is now 8 down from 567! If I haven’t mentioned it before, I now know exactly what I had which was Ductopenic

Bilirubin
Hi All, Does anybody know if you can have raised Bilirubin levels, but no trace on a urine strip? Is that how it works? Or does the high Bilirubin always show in urine? Thanks for any input

Dental care
Has anyone else been told that they cannot receive routine dental inspection, clean and polish, because of COVID? I have emailed my practice with up to date vaccination status and been told they aren’t seeing people who are CEV for routine inspection. It is now nearly 18 months since I’ve been seen

Hello all. Since I had my liver biopsy at the end of march this year I have been getting pains around the liver area (ribs) and sometimes it travels all the way round my back from right to left and wondered if this is normal so long after having my biopsy and will it go or have I got this for life now

Mum in hospital.. Acute alcoholic hepatitis and failing kidneys
Hi all, I'm having a difficult time, my mum has been in hospital for 10 days, went in due to complications with cirrhosis (it's now decompensated) and she seems to be getting progressively worse. Her kidneys are struggling and she's so weak and confused. I spoke to a consultant on Friday who said although
