Hi All,
Does anybody know if you can have raised Bilirubin levels, but no trace on a urine strip? Is that how it works? Or does the high Bilirubin always show in urine?
Thanks for any input

A blood test would be the most accurate test for bilirubin.
Thanks for replying. I thought it would be, just wondered if high levels did usually show up in urine.
I run bilirubin just over 50 in the blood test. I break down a lot of blood cells - agree with Ayrshire K that you can tell the bilirubin level from urine colour. Advise drinking as much as possible to help keep it down - does make you drowsy at times.
My husband has high bilirubin not sure what it is can you take it down and how many thanks
That would be a false negative result. They can happen with out of date test strips, old wee wee, and some drugs eg vitamin C.
