Confused and freaking out
Hi, I should preface this by saying that I have OCD, and, since having my son, health anxiety. I don’t cope well with the unknown and I know I need to find strategies for dealing with fluctuations in my condition given the nature of PBC. I was diagnosed in around 2010, and have generally responded well

Very Sick Husband With Cirrhosis - Will Things Get Any Better?
My husband has been drinking heavily for years and this has finally caught up with him. He has had low platelet count for a while now but in August we noticed he was getting very jaundiced. At this point, he had blood tests and was admitted to hospital. He is about to be discharged now after 7 weeks

Ultrasound
I had an ultrasound done in March just re read it. Only says liver is normal size and no focal lesions. Could they have not looked for fatty liver or even cirrhosis? Do u think if it was fine I could have stage 4 fibroids in 7 months of daily drinking?

Hashimotos and PBC? Primary Billiary Cholangitis
Am working on a healthcare brief as a copywriter atm. This time for the autoimmune liver condition PBC. The premise is that PBC is a rare condition, but as it’s a major cause of liver transplants in the US, I tend to think many people are undiagnosed and it actually occurs quite frequently. With that

I have Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (Decompensated). Looks like I'm coming to the end of my journey in life. On being diagnosed in July, my decent has been rapid. More & more of the end stage symptoms are showing. I thought maybe I'd have a couple of years to see if I could halt the damage & maybe

Low blood platelets
Hi I've been diagnosed with Pbc along with Sjogrens for over 2yrs. I am an Urso responder. My last blood test showed my ALP in normal range and ALT slightly high. I was very pleased but I now have slightly low platelets 126, norm 150. I don't understand why I can have a normal ALP and then this happen

Acid ursodeoxycholic and Fenofibrate for PBC
Hiya! An internist suggested that mixing the urso with fenofibrate has shown good results for patients with PBC. I was recently diagnosed with PBC overlap AIH. Are any of you talking it together? Any insight that you could share with me?

Liver cirrhosis
Hi My mum was in hospital for a month last Christmas with decompensated liver cirrhosis due to years of heavy alcohol abuse, 35 years plus. The doctors told me she will need a transplant. She has not had a drink since mid december 2020. Was having two weekly blood tests for months until a month ago.

A small piece of advice
Having been through Cirrhosis and fatty liver then the liver cancer string I can only give this advice I also have anxiety as well as depression and PTSD. Keep above all a positive outlook on life. Is it easy no, not at all. Turn to what helps. I spent months angry at God for my life circumstance. I

I know I have fatty liver which has possibly progressed to cirrhosis. Now breast cancer.
I was diagnosed with fatty liver three years ago and advised to give up alcohol which I have not managed. I had a routine breast screen which has shown cancer. I know liver problems can prevent chemo, has anyone else had an experience with these two conditions together?

Sofar findings: heterogeneous echotexture on ultrasound, fibroscan 8,8 Kpa (but with IRQ/median 32% rather poor reliable as I found), INR 1,28 (but after 2 months it decreased to 1,13), Ldl slightly high 140, total

Cirrhosis, alcohol misuse and recovery.
I’m new to this forum and finding it fascinating and extremely helpful. I’m overwhelmed by the knowledgable answers to pretty much anything liver related. I won’t go into a huge amount of detail, but I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in March 2021. I was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and sepsis, but

Cirrhosis and depression
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced extremely low mood with all the conditions associated with having cirrhosis. I am only 9 weeks sober and feel like I have hit a brick wall. My itching is unbearable, chronic fatigue and aches and pains all over. How have others managed to get through

PBC, cirrhosis, and now fatty liver?
Wow, I'm so confused! I was diagnosed with PBC that had already reached cirrhosis about six years ago. I discovered that a Chinese herbal I was taking (for insomnia) was likely part of the problem...it was banned in Canada without me knowing due to it causing liver, brain and nerve damage. After I stopped
