Covid booster and thyroid blood test
I am due to get my annual thyroid blood test in October. Have just realised that I get my autumn Covid booster the day before. Is it likely to have any effect on the test results?

Illness and taking T3 - something to consider?
just a thought I wanted to put out there and see what everyone else thinks… I am now prescribed T4 and T3 and it has been a bit of a life changer for me. Previous to the T3 being added, I was on mono T4 for years. To get out of bed and function, I had to have my T4 over range, whilst my T3 was scrapping

Possible NHS misdiagnosis saying clear for HPV when private home test says positive with variant 16 (the test and smear were 14 days apart)
I have tested HPV positive for 2 smears a year apart, the last one was Oct 2023. So I went for my third on 18 Jan this year and have just been given the all clear and told it will repeated in 5 years (which I doubt as I will be 71 then). HOWEVER, I had already done a home test with Medicines Online

Covid booster this autumn and AF
One month ago I had a successful cardioversion having been in persistent AF since Easter and am feeling much better for the first time in months. Ive also had MRI and CT scans of heart and various heart investigations which showed I had myocarditis probably caused by catching Covid and still suffering

chest infection
I am currently tapering from 30mg to 25mg prednisolone for GCA. (been taking pred since February). I have had a productive cough and what I believe is a chest infection for 2 weeks. It is definitely better this week than last week and the guaifenesin I have taken has helped. I do not feel unwell

internal shingles
hi, I’ve been diagnosed with internal shingles and it’s the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I’m on my last day of Aciclovir, I’m taking paracetamol and codeine during the day and 3 amitriptyline at night, this has been going on for over a week. Is this normal? Any advice gladly accepted

Time to try some extended release?
I realize this comes up for discussion quite frequently, but I’m going to ask for some advice here for my particular situation. I was diagnosed January 14/ 2014 with idiopathic Parkinsons Disease, and purposefully avoided starting the C/L treatment as long as I felt I could. I don’t remember the exact

To get signed off, or not to get signed-off, that is today's question!
Hi all - I posted something similar to this before, and I had lots of varied answers, but as my first round of IVF just failed I am wondering what I could do differently next time. I work in an unsupportive, busy Investment Banking environment, and I'm the only HR person so I cannot talk to myself ;

Period flu?
Just wondering if anyone is experiencing what I am. I underwent excision surgery for stage 3 endo in November, however more recently the pain is worsening again but right now that’s not the worst symptom- the last 3/4 months, either during or instantly after my period I’m hit with the WORST flu/cold

Hi everyone, I have been referred to an NHS fertility specialist and my appointment is mid-January. This is the first time I have been through this and looking to see if anyone can tell me a little more about the process and what kind of timescales to expect for starting treatments? 3 eggs on high dose, none fertilised
I'm 38 with a low egg reserve. I had my 1st cycle on the NHS and I was on protocol 9, which is their highest protocol. I was on 75 luveris and 375 gonal-f for a total of 18 days before I took my trigger and I had my retrieval on Monday there. They got 3 eggs, and the next morning I found out that 2 had

Need help with results
Hi there! I have a sad story to tell about the last 6 months. I had a severe kidney stone infection (and UTI) in the spring. I was slowly doing better on my new thyroid medication (Erfa), but the infection caused bacteremia/urosepsis and I developed severe confusion. I had started taking my thyroid

Covid-19 jab - book now or wait
In the UK, the Government is rolling out its autumn Covid-19 vaccination programme and encouraging those eligible to book their appointment as soon as possible. A BIG Hi to you all. I’d like to introduce myself. My nick name is Big H and my journey started in 2021 with a covid pneumonia. I was in a pub when we were allowed to go out, it’s the only place I had attended before contracting Covid Pneumonia. I just remember it was like having the worse flu and
