I'm 38 with a low egg reserve. I had my 1st cycle on the NHS and I was on protocol 9, which is their highest protocol. I was on 75 luveris and 375 gonal-f for a total of 18 days before I took my trigger and I had my retrieval on Monday there. They got 3 eggs, and the next morning I found out that 2 had not been mature enough, and the 3rd had not responded well to the process of ICSI.
I am disappointed, but I am still trying to be hopeful for the next round. My worry is, where do we go from here? I was already on the highest dose and for a long time. What if doing the same again has the same results or worse? And my husband has good count and mobility, so why did they do ICSI?
Has anyone else had a similar situation?

Sorry to hear your outcome, I had a cycle in February which I cancelled after 13 days of stims as I wasn't responding well, took a month off (went on holidays) and started stims again the next month, and got 14 eggs at retrieval last week. Like the other poster I couldn't believe there would be so much difference in just 2 months. Hopefully your clinic will help you with any decisions you need to make after this round, take care of yourself too, the whole process takes so much out of you!
It really does, I thought I would struggle more emotionally, but I think I found the effects on my body were the hardest to cope with. Letting my body recover a bit before the next cycle.
I heard a mild ivf can have a better effect with low reserves, as it focuses more on quality than quantity and after all, it only takes one. Wishing you the very best of luck 🤞
